The staff person was lovely and was friendly and kind. The float experience and cleanliness not so great. I'm an experienced floater--having a membership at a float center that is small, local owned (not a franchise) place in Colorado. I thought floating in Sedona with the energy of this place would be phenomenal. But, True Rest just misses the mark. I felt the cleanliness definitely was not there. I expected a pristine room--cleaned and dried for my use. the shower floor was wet and the brown and gray pebbled tile floor just made it look dirty. Was it wet from the last person to shower? Or had they at least hosed it down, washed it for my turn? I couldn't tell. The float center I frequent completely sanitizes all surfaces, including the shower floor, walls, tap and shower head. There is a lot of scale build up on the shower head and the fixtures as well--also grout had mold in spots and rubber caulking in places peeling and looking moldy. The drop ceiling tiles also looked to have mold and other discolored spots--I guess not surprising in a high moisture room--but drop ceiling tiles are not the smartest choice here. There was the smell of bleach pervading the air for my entire float -- probably used to clean, but it was distracting and gave me a headache. I also found the online booking system to be rather clunky and I purchased a three float package and wanted to gift one of my float credits to another person (I can do this at my float center using their online system which is a breeze) and was not able to--the system just doesn't allow it, I guess, as the employee explained to me. This place was more expensive than the float center in my town as well, with smaller tanks and float times of 60 minutes vs. 90 minutes. Also, I think the salt content in the tank was too low because my head kept sinking and I'd get salt water in the corner of my eyes--hadn't experienced this in other float centers. I probably won't return to use my other float credits. Floating is amazing. But not here, I'm sorry to say. True Rest needs to fix up their float rooms. I hope this feedback will motivate them to make improvements. I don't love leaving a low review. If you ever come to Fort Collins or Denver, Colorado and want to Float, look up Samana Float Center. This is the ideal float center and should be the model for other...
Read moreI have never had an experience quite like this. It was wonderful.
Description: You have your own full room with a shower (with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash), towels, earplugs and other accessories, a bench, and pod all to yourself. It was very comfortable. Inside the pod consists of music and light controls. There is a button to call someone at the front desk incase you need anything. Once you step in, you feel your feet and body lift to the top of the water. Once in the pod, you pull the lid shut and make yourself comfortable as you float in the warm salt water. The water and air in the pod will become consistent with your body temperature. I felt like I was in bed or floating in the air. Once settled in, youâre all to yourself.
My Experience: This felt like a relaxing therapy session with myself - a relaxation exercise. From talking with the owner after my session, I gathered that many clients work their way up to falling asleep during their session. A one hour session is equivalent to a three hour nap, so once youâre finished you will feel very refreshed. While my boyfriend fell into a deep sleep and reenergized, I worked through some lingering anxiety. Because youâre floating in an enclosed pod, you are left with only your mind. After describing my experience with the owner, he said many other clients have had similar experiences. By quieting your distractions, you are able to work through some things in your mind. It is absolutely therapeutic. I learned about myself during my session.
I will definitely recommend flotation therapy to my friends. I will also recommend this float spa specifically as it is very clean, comfortable, and the owner is fabulous. He is understanding and kind. Once my session was finished, my boyfriend and I stuck around for over an hour to chat and get to know the owner personally. He gave us lots of suggestions for activities and restaurants in Sedona and...
Read moreFirst time floating, and I loved it and signed up for a membership promptly afterward with a cool January deal they're running for unlimited floats. I'm pretty much a mermaid in the desert so i don't know why I haven't gotten my tail in here sooner! their staff is very sweet and accommodating and don't put any pressure to sell more floats. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the water was a tad colder than expected. I would have liked it to be a few degeees warmer for me to be able to relax. The water for the shower also had a slow drain which was a little unsettling.
I chose the silent pitch black experience and it was fascinating to observe my mind and tensions in my body became immediately illuminated. I recommend this to everyone and I will be sending my clients here!
Update 11/2024: Giving 2 stars because I had 6 floats on my account after I canceled my membership that I could use until Oct 2024. I had a bunch of really hard things happen this year which prevented me from using them. I emailed the owner about it to see if they could just let me use them for November instead of October, and I was told that I had to become a member again for 3 months just to use them - and wait to use my 6 floats that were already mine! Just because they expired, I don't believe they can't make exceptions if they wanted to. I hate when companies don't honor the customer. Definitely not going to go back after this. Instead of accommodating me, they try and make an easy sell...just complete ignorance of what I was asking for. I would have liked to use the 6 floats sooner than have to wait 3 months just to be able to use them...
