Upon entering I was greeted pleasantly, but shortly after that I overheard two of the employees alerting each other to the “two Mexicans in the corner”, who they suspected of stealing. Allowing me to hear this conversation was unprofessional right off the bat, but because I did hear it, I too began to watch them and saw no suspicious behavior at all, which made me feel kind of like they were profiling the only brown people in the shop. That was kind of unsavory in my opinion but I continued to browse the selection and pick out a couple of small things, at which point every single employee approached me multiple times each asking me if I wanted a basket, which I repeatedly stated I did not as I knew I was only buying a few small items (because their prices were astronomically above market value) and then one of the employees clung on to me and fallowed me everywhere asking me question after question at which point it dawned on me, oh, ok, they weren’t profiling the Mexicans they just treat every single person who walks in like a potential thief. As a shop owner myself, I understand and appreciate loss prevention as I have to employ those tactics as well, but these people crossed a line. No one wants someone hovering over them asking endless questions while they’re trying to shop, not even honest customers with money to spend. It was especially disheartening to learn they essentially knew little to nothing about the crystals, I felt like I was hosting a free course in gemology to all of these young, under educated employees who also didn’t realize many of their high end crystals were dyed(and sold as natural, that’s a big no no). I remained friendly even though I was a bit annoyed because I went their to shop not to give my entire life story to random people who were treating me like a common thief and not a serious collector(which I am.) maybe the whole experience was just soured by the initial witnessing of them profiling the people of color, perhaps if I hadn’t seen that I’d feel differently about the unusual amount of attention they were giving me, but unfortunately that’s just my...
Read moreDo NOT waste your money on this so-called “psychic” named Judy.
I paid $79 for 30 minutes expecting insight and guidance, but instead, I got blatant fear-mongering, profiling, and even racism. From the start, she made wild assumptions about my personal life before I even shared details. She immediately labeled someone in my life as a narcissist and insisted I cut them off. She repeated the word “narcissist” over and over, weaponizing pop-psychology buzzwords instead of providing any intuitive reading. She even asked if he had a drug problem before I had given any information that would suggest that, and then backpedaled when I mentioned that I also use substances recreationally.
The absolute worst part? She ended the session with a blatantly racist remark. When I told her my friend works as a Spanish interpreter, she immediately asked, “So he’s Hispanic?” and followed up with, “You have to be careful with Hispanics. Some of them are good, some of them are not so good. I’m not trying to be judgmental.” Newsflash: That’s literally being judgmental and racist.
Beyond the offensive and ignorant comments, there was zero psychic ability on display. She didn’t use crystals, astrology, or any actual spiritual tools. She purely relied on my words to craft a completely false and harmful narrative—one that re-triggered old wounds and invalidated my experiences. I left feeling worse than when I arrived, which should never happen in a reading.
Save yourself the money and emotional distress. This was nothing more than an expensive, unqualified opinion masked...
Read moreGreat Reading, Great Selection Absolutely great selection of rocks and minerals even for a rock shop, now about the reading. I’m a curious yogi of traditional and non-traditional explanations, so I was definitely open to a new experience—especially since the energy vibe in Sedona is so freaky and wonderful! Gina fit us in as walk-ins and made the absolute most of our time with her. I got the Aura Photo/Reading followed by a partner session, where we asked some questions about things and people in our lives we were curious about. Gina was sincere and mindful of our thoughts, and we’re grateful for the experience. Even my partner, who agreed to go only because it would make me happy, had to admit the encounter altered his perspective. “When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.” Since I would gladly book again, I guess so. Thanks Sedona Crystal Vortex,...
