20230331 Stopped here for some apple cider donuts and apple cider slush. All delicious as expected! 2019 My friend told me about The Apple Barn and Cider Mill, and I also read about it on Only In Your State website. Both spoke so highly about this place, and I couldn't wait to visit. I stopped by Thursday afternoon, and bought some Apple Cider Jelly, Fried Apple Pies, a slice of Stacked Apple Cake, and a cup of Apple Cider Slush. The slush was yummy, but I didn't like the stacked cake. The stacked cake looked yummy, but it has a grainy like feel to it, and I don't like the feel or the flavor. I told my friend that I stopped by the Apple Barn, and he told me how much he loves the Apple Fritters. I decided to return on Friday and picked up some apple dumplings, a cinnamon sugar donut and another apple cider slush on my way home. The donut was so good. After getting home, long drive, I baked one of the Apple dumplings and I found it tastes better with lots of syrup that came with the dumplings and ice cream. The apple dumpling is basically an apple wrapped in a flour wrap, and baked. Oh, when I opened the box with the apple dumplings, I was so thankful that the lady who packed it taped down the lid in the syrup container real well. With a 500 mile drive home, it was still nicely secured and survived a "slam on the brake" moment. I also picked up 3 loaves of apple bread: apple cider crumb, banana bread, and blackberry cobbler bread. The banana bread was good but it is not sweet. It tastes better when warmed - about 10 seconds in the microwave will do, and then topped with the apple cider jelly, which adds sweetness to the bread. The apple jelly reminds me of jello, but super sweet. The Blackberry Cobbler Bread was good, but it had blackberry seeds in it. The fried apple pie was real good. I warmed it up in my air fryer, and the crust is so tasty and crispy. The apple filling has a mild sweetness to it. The store sells everything from cheese, bacon, ham, butter, kitchen dishware, bread, corn for popcorn, souvenir like magnet mug jewelry, jelly, salsa, pickled food, apples of course, apple cider, home decor items, etc... I took lots of pictures to give you an idea. Of all the things I've tried, the cinnamon sugar donuts and the apple cider slush are...
Read moreThe Apple Barn & Cider Mill is a charming stop that truly captures the spirit of Tennessee. It’s not a restaurant (though there is one nearby that we’re definitely trying next time!), but it offers an unforgettable experience all the same.
We stopped by after a great meal at Azul Cantina, so we didn’t get to eat at the restaurant, but we did try their amazing cider tasting—and what a treat! For just $10, you get to sample a variety of house-made ciders with different flavors. Each one had its own personality, from crisp and refreshing to sweet and spiced. Highly recommended if you’re a cider fan or just curious to try something local and delicious.
The barn itself is authentic—it dates back to 1910 and still has that old-time charm. It’s part of a working farm with over 4,000 apple trees, and you can feel the history and care that goes into everything they do.
There are also several shops on site, all revolving around apples in some way—candies, jams, gifts, baked goods. It’s a little apple wonderland! It’s a great spot to explore, especially if you’re with family or just want to walk around and enjoy something different.
One tip: weekends can get busy, and traffic on the main roads can be a bit heavy. If you want to avoid the rush, this is a great place to escape to while things calm down. Peaceful, delicious, and full of local flavor—we’re so glad...
Read moreWas very disappointed. I'll start with the pros. Very accommodating for my disability as I'm in a mobility scooter and the fritters, butter and Juice you get at the beginning we're really good but that's where it ends. I had the chicken trio. The chicken was done on the inside but wasn't fried long enough for the skin to be crispy, so it was rubbery and chewy and inedible. The mac and cheese was too watery and had a weird like too much cheese taste to it if that makes sense LOL. The mashed potatoes were Bland and dry on the inside so they definitely should have had gravy on them. The pot pie had big chunks in it but was also Bland and not very big. Then the dumplings were about the same way. the chicken had a decent taste to it but other stuff was Bland and the biscuits were just okay. Was very disappointed after seeing plenty of reviews onkine of great things and we watch a YouTuber called Yankee in the south and he really talks about it being great. Then our waitress wasn't very good. she acted like she didn't want to be there, she wasn't very tentative and kept on trying to refill us with...
