The worst experience that I have EVER had at ANY restaurant IN MY LIFE!!!!! First of all we waited right at a half hour just before we were even seated. I had a 19 month old and a 6 year old with me and if I had not thought that my food was going to be anything but extraordinary then I would have walked the hell out. My daughter got her feet stepped on and her walked over I don't know how many times. I got bumped and elbowed and felt like I was going to suffocate because I could not even turn around to check on her. After we were seated it was another 10 minutes before we even met our waitress, when I placed my drink order I asked if she could put my daughters drink in a to-go cup so it didn't get spilled by my son. What I received was a full drink sat in front of my son and she handed me two tiny cups and told me that I could fill them up. I ordered the strawberry crapes and my daughter the chicken and waffles. When the plates arrived the table and I scooted my back from the edge the table and seen that where I had moved the plate from was covered with strawberry stickiness and when I lifted my plate the bottom of it looked as if it had been sat down on top of another dish. After attempting to get some extra napkins from the waitress which never showed back up again until we were getting ready to leave, I was stuck with sticky everywhere and a 19 month old driving me crazy trying to play in it. My daughter's chicken tenders were so hard that she could not tear them with just her teeth, but I had to cut them into tiny pieces. The butter that was on the waffles would not even melt because they were not even room temperature warm. I paid over $9 for just what I got and for four people to eat it was over $50 with the drinks and the $4 tip which I refused to give, but after I left, my husband went back and left one just because he is a nice guy but refused to tell me until after we had left because he know I would be pissed. We were ALL still hungry after leaving here considering most of what was in our plates was cream cheese and syrup. I will go the rest of my life before I EVER step into another IHOP again...this place just ruined me. Worst...
Read moreThe food at IHOP is always delicious! Here today, the service was not good. The greeter or hostess was not friendly at all, did not greet us at all, she grabbed two sets of silverware and two menus and we followed her to a table and she said enjoy your food. She never smiled or made eye contact with us. When the waitress came to our table she greeted us, but was not friendly, she did not smile at all. She took our drink orders and took our food orders, and when the food came out it was brought out by a nice friendly gentleman server, but our waitress did not come back until it was time for the bill. I had a piece of Gristle in my steak omelette which I had to spit into a napkin, and I had no other napkin then to use to wipe my hands and face with. After all of my food was gone and she brought us the bill I asked for a napkin, and it took her about 10 minutes to bring one back. I was never offered a refill of my drink or had any other service from this woman. We still left a generous tip even though the service was very poor. Like I said before, the food was delicious, and I am not complaining about the gristle in my steak omelette because that happens sometimes, but not having an extra napkin does make a difference in...
Read moreI was very nice about this, but I got very offended at the way I was confronted when entering the gift shop. Our family was on the wait list and we have not gotten any souvenirs on our trip, so we figured it would be a good time to find something to take home. When entering the shop, the hostess was calling for a party and asked me if we were with the party. I politely shook my head and answered "no", and she asked if we were on the list already. I shook my head and answered "yes ma'am" with a smile. I was then rudely instructed we were not to be in the shop unless we are shopping.(key word, rudely. I am far from unreasonable and am almost overly understanding with anyone in the service industry.)
I might have looked like I didn't have money because of my comfortable traveling attire, but my family was already picking out merchandise ahead of me and we would have likely spent at least $100 alone in the gift shop for things to take home to the rest of our family, on top of our food bill. And we are generous tippers as well. Just a forewarning to anyone looking to have a pleasant morning, make sure you are not bothered by things such as this because I am still shaking and we have been at our other destination for...
