I recently visited this studio to have my dermal jewelry changed, but the piercer was not properly trained or equipped for the procedure. What should have been a simple service turned into an extremely painful and prolonged experience. She spent over 30 minutes struggling with the piercing, causing unnecessary bleeding and discomfort, only to eventually give up and say she couldn’t remove the top.
I went to a different studio the next day, and with the proper tools and knowledge, they completed the change in less than 5 minutes. Painlessly and without any issues.
Please ensure your staff are fully trained and provided with the correct equipment before offering specialized services like dermal changes. This experience was not only disappointing but also concerning from a safety and professionalism standpoint.
Edit to reply from owner:
My dermal was fully healed, I had it for 7 months with no issues until the day I visited your studio to have the jewelry changed. The complications only began after your piercer attempted to remove the top by turning it in the wrong direction, which caused unnecessary bleeding and trauma to the area. That alone disrupted my healing process.
Contrary to your response, the piercer did not attempt stabilize the anchor while twisting the jewelry, which is a basic and necessary step when handling dermals especially during a first time jewelry change. This lack of proper technique is what caused the pain and bleeding, not an “improperly healed” piercing.
She only mentioned that the dermal “might not be healed” after she had already caused damage and I expressed that I was in pain. When I asked her to continue, it was because she reassured me that bleeding and discomfort were “normal” for dermal changes. I trusted her as the professional unfortunately, that trust was misplaced.
The very next day, another piercer at a different studio was able to complete the change in under 5 minutes with no pain or complications, which further confirms that the issue was not with the dermal itself, but with the handling at your studio.
To others reading this: I strongly recommend researching proper dermal care and jewelry change procedures beforehand. I regret not knowing more myself, because now I’m having to restart the healing process due to improper handling by someone I expected...
Read moreIn my opinion, raul was very rude and highly unproffesional. He was walking around the shop barefoot and the bottom of his feet were black. His attitude was very insulting and his ego reminded me of Donald trump's. He acts and speaks very highly of himself but his work is mediocre at best. He claims to have been tattooing for 20 years, but if he's so talented why doesn't he have his own shop yet? I will not be returning to, or recommending this shop, just because of raul.
: In response to the "Owner's" response : I told my friends and family about the very unprofesional interview/ experience I had at "Peggy's". Their overall response was that raul most likely saw me as a threat. Which isn't surprising ; If I was the "head artist" at a shop, ... and I was dressed and groomed like a vagrant, barefoot, and conducting a job interview, (for the owner), ...I probably wouldn't want to hire a clean cut guy, who's work tramples that of my own, either. But I wouldn't be unprofessional about it. Raul's unprofessional behavior, work attire, personal hygiene and attitude, would not be tolerated where I'm from. Instagram vincetattoo305, here you can see the inexperienced work, raul was talking about in his response. The same work, he felt necessary to call his co-worker to come laugh at with him. I've looked over the images on this and the Facebook page, and I can't seem to find any of Raul's work... I wonder why? One more thing. Being barefoot in a tattoo shop, is disgusting, even apprentices studying for their blood born pathogens test know that. And yes, the bottom of Raul's bare feet were black, when he was conducting the interview. I dont know if it was because of the dirt, or spilled ink, I'm not suggesting anything, but seriously, that's just gross and unprofessional. Your head artist of 20 plus years experience, who's full of himself, needs further training, to politely say the least. Maybe you should send him to a tattoo school, where at the very least, he can learn why it's important to wear shoes in a tattoo shop. What's the owner's response to that? Here's a tip/ common sense, be polite, courteous, and professional, and you will always have positive reviews. This latest response as well as the original post, in every way, shape, and form is entirely based on personal opinion...
Read moreI’m very disappointed in my experience! Upon reviewing on Google the place looked great and I loved the hena tattoos that were posted. My mom went in for a hena tattoo and the experience wasn’t it for us. We payed $40 + tip ( which is reasonable when someone’s time art and effort is put into something CORRECTLY!) the tattoos was so sloppy! Like the talent was there but it was as if the women was so lazy to do the tattoo for us and the other ppl in line. When walking out my mom hit her arm and smudged the tattoo ( that’s on us we know ) my mom went in and asked if the Part messed up could be wiped off or fixed and little and the lady made her feel straight up DUMB! She kept asking well why did you hit it and how could u let this happen in a sarcastic and undermining tone. I could see if she was upset if she put some much time and effort into the piece and we messed it up but she didn’t… she literally took 5 mins with my mom. The lack of professionalism from her was disappointing. I could understand if she kindly told us that there was nothing they could do since we messed it up but instead she was rude.
I must say however!!! The lady at the front desk was very very very nice and handled herself well with a big crowd came in and the phone was...
