Where do I even begin!? From the outside it looks promising. First, when we checked in they informed us that one of the two elevators was broken and to use the other. No problem. We load all of our things onto a cart. (This included a 60 quart cooler loaded with drinks and ice) We use the functioning elevator and get it to our third floor room. The hallways and rooms are VERY outdated and give the place a grungy appearance. Couch and chairs in the room had stains on them. Curtains were partially faded from the sun. We soon decided to leave to get lunch but the functional elevator had quit working also š” We took the 3 flights of stairs down to the lobby to inform them they now had no working elevators. I commented about taking all of our things, including the heavy cooler, down three flights of stairs. They said they would have it fixed or have staff carry it down for us. šÆ (Poor maintenance guys) We come later on go to the pool area. Very crowded btw. The hot tub jets didn't work which was disappointing after a long day. Afterwards we stopped at the desk and asked for 2 extra pillows. They said they would bring them up. 1-2 hours later they had not come so I picked up the phone to call the lobby but the phone didn't work either. I looked the hotel number up on my cell phone and called. Their excuse was the coworker was busy plunging a toilet. (Really didn't need to know that!) They finally brought them to us. The whole evening their were unattended children running and screaming in the halls. At midnight when I was ready to sleep this was still going on. With the hotel phone out of order and myself super angry I walked down all three flights of stairs and complained to the staff that I wanted a full refund immediately or the kids to quit screaming and running. (Appeared that several parents were in the lobby drinking and playing dominoes) I made some comments loud enough for the parents to hear. The staff mentioned I wasn't the first to complain and said he'd come up stairs and try to determine which room they belonged to. Finally had enough quiet to sleep around 2am. Next morning at checkout I was feeling bad for the staff that would have to carry everything down 3 flights of stairs. Thankfully one of the elevator had been repaired and the other being worked on. Upon checkout we spoke to the manager to make sure she was notified of all the unpleasant experiences and she offered a partial refund (about half) since we had booked through Expedia. She was very sincere and friendly. Hopefully they can update and repair the place. It has potential! Oh and the bed is like sleeping on a 1985 spring...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMe and my family stayed at this hotel for 5 nights and it was the worst experience I have ever had. The hotel looks NOTHING like the pictures shown, is outdated, and smelt horrible! I would understand if it was the humidity and beach, but NO other businesses smelled this way. The mattresses were so thin, I could feel every spring. The pool was so dirty that we could not see through our goggles, and the hot tub was colder than the pool. The housekeeping only gave us 2 towels every day when we asked for 4, considering we had 4 people in the room. We had to go down to the front desk and ask for more EVERY day. The housekeeping also would go in the room to clean, and leave rolls of trash bags or cleaning chemicals in the room. Maybe they forgot and it wasn't a huge deal, but I would've liked some febreeze instead of bleach bottles. The room smelled horrid! The worst part of this stay, was the bugs! On our 2nd night, I felt something crawling on my foot. I looked down and it was a TICK! Luckily, I noticed before it bit me, and killed it. I let the front desk know, and they did nothing about it. The day we left, we had a HUGE cockroach/waterbug crawl onto our stuff near the kitchen area. I freaked out and had my fiance kill it immediately. He went to the desk to complain and receive some sort of compensation, and was told no, they would not refund or help. I refused to leave until something was done. We couldn't leave for an extra 30 minutes because of this argument with the employees. I went down myself and asked for a compensation, and was given an attitude. "What compensation DO YOU WANT?" We left the bug in the kitchen so they could see it, and they sent a housekeeper upstairs to prove we weren't lying. Which we weren't! We ended up getting a $35 refund for a $500 bill. I don't know about other people, but that is not acceptable to me. They wouldn't budge anymore and We had a 12 hour drive, so we left. We came home and opened the suitcases to wash all of the laundry and another giant bug came out of the suitcase! We are disgusted and furious! I've left messages and tried to get a manager on the phone since we left, and we can't get a call back. Please beware and DON'T stay here! I would have left early, but they charged my credit card at check in and I would have had to wait over a week for the money to be returned. Do yourselves a favor, pay 20 dollars more a night to have a...

We knew ahead of time, thanks to reviews, that the hotel is quite dated. That itself is totally understandable and not an issue on its own. The issue, I think, comes from a combination of extreme cost cutting and a general apathy of the staff. The cabinetry and bathroom door have several holes and cracks which have been painted over with wood filler and left at that. There is black mold forming on the ceiling and door inside the bathroom, probably because the exhaust fan does not work. The toilet seat is peeling and looks disgusting, the toilet fill valve causes terrible water hammering so that each time you flush the toilet, it sounds like a helicopter is just outside the window. Then there are small things like the lack of a coffee maker, alarm clock, the fact that the TV channels are all overlaid with static like the old analog antenna days, the mattress in the pull out sofa has compressed to maybe 2 inches thick and the cover has ripped about 12 inches on either side of the corner. The shower curtain has skits all along the bottom that allow water out onto the floor or towel, the toilet paper holder was missing, the bathroom sink stopper was broken, the toilet tank float had been bent in order to cut the water flow when it was half full, which would use less water but also prevent proper flushing. One of the box springs is covered in stains that look very much like vomit, chunks and all. There were two dead American roaches in the lower cabinets, and then later that night there were 2 live roaches roaming the kitchenette and the area near the beds. The carpet has holes and has stretched over the years so that there are lumps and waves in it, and I stepped on a nice spot of chewing gum between the beds. The public restroom and the hallway leading to it reeked of pee like a seedy gas station bathroom. The light bulbs all over the room are mixed colors so that when you turn on the room lights certain areas are nice and warm colored while the opposite side of the room is harsh cold white like a...
