Wow!!!!! Came here not expecting much by what the reviews said, but I was wrong. Got a parillada for 2 and a carne guisada taco. Started with chips and salsa. Mmmm the salsa was warm and there were two kinds, a red that was like a ranchero sauce and a green one with a good kick. Homemade fried chips to go with the salsas, and it was a hit. So far so good. First to show was the fajitas, a big plate of meat and a half sauteed onion. I was like hmmm, just meat and onion on a plate. Then she brought us a bowl of charro beans. Started with the beans, ok ok not bad not bad at all. Then I made a corn tortilla taco of fajitas onion and some more tacerra salsas and I was in food heaven. The meat was melt in your mouth tender and the salsas were fire, but not in a bad fire, just enough to want more. Now came the carne guisada taco. Holy $h!+, this thing was the size of the plate. My wife said that was the first time in my life I was speechless. I told the waitress if this was a small taco and she said "yes we usually make the tortillas a lot bigger". I tasted the carne guisada and wow it was even more tender than the fajitas and was soooooo good. Only one big problem, how do I get that over stuffed tortilla in my belly. Had to do the George Castanza(if you know you know) and eat it with a fork. Ordered two more tortillas one for my wife and one to go. Finished what we could and brought the rest for dinner more like a feast there was that much left over. I will be coming back here next time I'm in SPI. But if you are near by and want some good Mexican food you need to try this place. I added pictures but they do not...
Read moreI was to go and celebrate my birthday with my family and figured because we saw such good reviews for this restaurant we going to give it a try. Not to mention we drove about 9hrs to have a good weekend by the beach. As soon as we walked in the manager made a face the moment we walked in. We figured she was probably the host who was sitting people and thought nothing of it. The rude lady does not even sit us but points at the table where she wanted us to sit. We were a party of 7 people and didn't even fit at the table she wanted to give us. We asked to sit a bigger table. She sat there and rolled her eyes she started murmuring to one of the other waiter. She walks over to our table and literally throws the menus and walks away without saying anything but just giving us ugly looks. We asked to speak to the manager to our surprised she was the manager. My family and I felt so uncomfortable that we decided to leave instead. We felt so unwanted and worse customer service ever. The place was so beautiful but the manger's attitude was the worse ever. If she was having a bad day it did not give her any reason to take it out on my family and I. We please ask the owner to replace her! We would had loved to try out your food but unfortunately of this manager were not able to...
Read more::HIRE MORE HELP:: This is our second time coming and both times, we had to call someone for help after waiting several minutes. Today, we waited about 20 minutes before I got a chance to ask for assistance since the servers kept passing our table without acknowledging us and I saw a large crowd coming in. I ordered water and my husband water and coffee. She brought us one water and one coffee. After about 7 minutes waiting for the other water, I asked her for it... i got it after 20 minutes when i asked another server. You can definitely see the lack of leadership or management. Hire more help and train your staff to communicate "we'll be right with you", etc. A simple acknowledgement goes a long way.
I don't blame the staff because I can see that they're working hard. There are about three tables of 7 people and one with 16; there are three groups of people that had been waiting at the door for a good 30 minutes before being seated.
Tip: scope the place when you walk in. If it's pretty packed, have patience. If there's not a lot of people, enjoy! The food is...
