This is by far the best hotel on the island for its class. My friend and I came to SPI indefinitely for business with our two dogs, one SUV, and one 24’ Class C. The management was very accommodating to our vehicles, and to the two dogs and the pet fee was very reasonable. I’m still staying here over a month later rebooking on a weekly basis at the day of checkout and they have never changed the rate. They gave me a great rate the whole time and gave me notice a few weeks prior that it may go up as we obviously noticed the crowd getting bigger on the island.
We experienced many housekeeping visits and they were always great. They are happy to be here and they make everything so clean and they are very trustworthy with all the computer equipment and luggage I had in the room. The manager and the employees always have a smile and are very happy that you are here. It’s really like a mini neighborhood of family and friends. I can tell that they don’t rent rooms to people who are unsafe and they don’t hire people who don’t care. They really care about their business and they are building a new hotel on the island called El Delfin.
I felt very safe here and I actually loved the area that I was in most. Everything is very convenient and is within walking distance to the bars, restaurants, bay, beach, and shopping. Most of the other hotels on the island are dumpy and trashy and yet the price at the Lighthouse Inn was comparable to the dumpy motels. I had a few people over and we made great friends with people that were coming and going along with the staff and management. I would definitely recommend any hotel under...
Read moreI would not recommend staying here. I had high hopes for this hotel simply because of the reviews. I was sadly mistaken. Very small hotel, very small pool and patio space. Walked into the office to check in. The office was clean and smelled like fresh paint. The guy at the desk was very nice and had great customer service skills. As soon as we open the door to our room, that's when it went downhill. The room smelled foul, almost like pickles and just not clean. There was hair in the bed, the bathroom, the dresser drawers, and the fridge. The off white, seemingly old sheets and comforters were stained. There was a fabric black chair in the corner covered in stains. I immediately went back to the office and asked for a refund or another room. They offered us another room which did happen to be a little bit cleaner. Still had foul smell and stained comforter but no hair anywhere from what I could tell. Definitely did not feel like the most safe or controlled area of the island. More like a free for all, no rules hotel. My daughter and I will not be staying here again. Great customer service, just need to update some things and take more pride in...
Read moreWe stayed here for 5 nights to check out South Padre Island. The room was not super comfortable to just hang out in. If you are booking this hotel to not spend any time in the room then this is the place for you.||||The bath towels and the bed sheets are the thinest I have ever seen. The room was clean when we arrived. They could use some updating inside the rooms. I notice mold on the bottom of our shower curtain so little things like that could be taken care of. We had to have our mini fridge swapped out while we were there because it would not shut off so everything froze. ||||The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. The breakfast is very minimal. They have the waffle makers, a toaster with bread to toast, 2 breakfast cereals to choose from, and some fresh fruit (bananas/oranges). There are packets of oatmeal but no microwave. You would have to take it back to your room to microwave it, but there is a sign saying not to take food out of there.||||The location is fantastic - you can walk to bars,...
