Honestly, Bonwood is a terrific joint.
The music is friendly and seems to be enjoyed by most visitors, the atmosphere as a whole can be very welcoming during the night once leagues have ended. With that being said, it seems as if league is held every other day(during the winter that is) but nonetheless it's fair pricing during the week days is too good to pass up.
On Mondays its $6 for three games, an excellent deal, one that has made a loyal customer out of me, why spend $12 for two games at other alleys, when the best one in town is right here?
To be honest, it's quite hard to spend time there for free, between the arcade games, (50¢--$1), bowling and food, the only way to enjoy time free, is to tag along with a buddy and watch them play, or window shopping in their Pro store, which also has top quality products for anyone's bowling needs.
There is a bar, however, I don't have any insight on it (not 21) other than it has a Simpsons pinball machine and serves a variety of beer.
The inside is kept quite clean and the staff are welcoming and courteous, so long as you follow the rules and respect the alley, ( ie. Putting balls back, cleaning your food messes, returning shoes, refraining from horseplay)
Overall I love the place to bits and it's my absolute favourite bowling alley, the only thing that gets to me is, during the winter, league can take up entire days of the alley, unless you're willing to go between 10am and 3pm, or 11 at night
But if you can't beat em, join em.
If you're passionate about bowling, the leagues are a great way to have fun and hone your bowling by studying others and finding your own way to bowl. Altogether a fine investment of my time and money.

Read moreHad an absolutely horrific experience on Friday afternoon with Sue at the front desk. After pre paying for 3 games, my group chose to play an additional game. One of the three members in my group approached the front desk to inquire. And Sue have a snarky innapropriate comment. After One other member came back from grabbing something outside she became very aggressive towards my friend for going outside and not starting the 4th game immediately. I approached the counter and asked if there was an issue and she yelled at me, stating we all went outside to smoke. I mentioned she must be confused because two of us never went outside nor do we smoke. She continued with her poor etiquette and customer service skills by continuing to be rude, judgmental and just outright ridiculous. I then asked for a refund and said “I’m more than happy to shut down your lane and refund your $9, actually I’d really like that” she, Sue said that to the customer. I went back to my group and mentioned that e will be leaving because of the service given today. on the way out I had asked for a receipt and she waved her hands out the door and said I already gave it your group, with an aggressive loud attitude. I asked her not to wave her hands at the door as I am happy to exit and I just wanted to make sure the refund was processed. I will be honest I come here all.the.time. And have even hosted a couple parties here and she was just absolutely the worst customer service person I have ever come across. Sue, again was net name. Elderly woman. I may not be on a league with you guys or score 300 on average but I would like to be respected as a customer as I am sure she would like...
Read moreThis bowling alley has always been my go-to bowling alley since I started bowling more seriously about 4 years ago. The lanes are always well-oiled and we've never had problems with our lanes more than just a push of the button on the side of the ball dispenser. The food there is also decently priced and pretty good. They serve alcohol as well, but I'm not a big drinker.
Bonwood starts holding a bowling league during certain periods of the year and after a certain time, there aren't many available lanes. Before I bought my own shoes, I used to use their shoes all the time. Their shoes are worn and old, but I've never had a problem with them. Before I got my own bowling balls, their balls were always fine. The house balls have bigger finger holes to fit the general public like usual and there has always been a wide range of weights.
There is a small shop for all of your bowling needs as you walk in the automatic doors. You can get bowling balls, bowling shoes, finger tape, bowling bags, etc. You can also get your bowling ball drilled and/or re-drilled. There are arcade games in the food and waiting area next to the cafe, but other than that, not much else.
The only major downside of Bonwood is the long wait times. I've waited almost 3 hours for a lane with my friends. It's difficult to leave as well because you must be there when your group is called after you're put on the waitlist. Even though the wait times can be atrocious, I will still mainly only go here to bowl. All of the other pros make that one con bearable, but that's also why I can't give this...
