First let me state that this is the first time i have ever had to write a complaint on any service or store in my life, which i hope holds some form of merit. With saying that,I brought a large victoria secret tote and box full of clothes to the Southaven location tonight at 7:40pm. An employee named Jessica was beyond offensive and rude to me .She proceeded to tell me the items I brought in had an odor to them and would not look through thr rest of the items i had brought in due to this extremely offensive remark. The had examined only 4 items, when she called me over. the thing is, the items I brought in were majority all new, with tags still attached and the others were washed in gain laundry detergent before even being brought in. So how does clothes, from a smoke free home, brought to the store after being washed or never worn, stored in a clean home have a fowl smell.I was offended so badly I decided to ask 2 other separate store patrons, just to see if I was wrong or not, if they smelled anything on 2 separate items, telling neither of what had just been said. Both individuals made a remark that they smelled like laundry detergent. The older lady I approached even specified gain laundry detergent on one particular piece of clothing. I am under the impression that the young, inexperienced, offensively rude staff employed at this location just did not want to have to work due to it being 20 minutes before they could refuse to take in anymore potential merchandise. Not only am i upset and offended but embarrassed.I've known Plato's has a reputation for poor customer service but would never have expected to be treated this way. As an individual who is also in an industry where customer satisfaction and return clientele are important, this type of customer service would concern me. I know without a shadow of doubt that nothing I brought in had an odor!! The only way I can see to rectify the humiliation I experienced is to to leave a review on every site I can find about this location. You can take one look at me and see that appearance and perception means more to me than most and letting anything I own or intend to sell have anything wrong with it, let alone a smell is out of character and highly unlikely. I sincerely hope that this employee is addressed and informed as to the appropriate way to speak to customers, otherwise the business, like so many...
Read moreI walked in with 2 bins full of womenâs shoes clothes and purses/bags. The clothes and shoes were all college aged female items which is the target demographic for Platoâs Closet. The purses were Kate spade, one being $250 brand new and $370 respectively and neither one was taken as well as a Vera Bradley bag that was not taken. What a joke. I wasnât greeted by anyone. When I brought my bins in the woman taking my stuff didnât say a word to me or even look me in the eye. We went back to retrieve what wasnât taken and I was shocked. They didnât take anything from my bins but a few pairs of shoes. The shoes were brand new never worn converse and for 4 pairs we were offered $30 and some change. Upon returning home and seeing what wasnât taken I was shocked again. They hadnât even gone through the bins fully. We took stuff out that was still originally folded from when we put it in. I am quite frustrated with the experience and Iâm a bit angry they hadnât even gone through the bins fully. The people working are lazy and their customer service is just as bad. Do not recommend going to this establishment and selling unless youâre okay with being shafted. Iâm appalled by the level of rudeness and disgust I was met with. They give you pennies on the dollar and change a...
Read moreI dropped off maybe 30 items. Several dresses, about 15 tops, and about 8 pair of jeans. Of those jeans, 3 were American eagle. They'd never been worn. I was given my entire basket back and told it was a FULL pass. I asked why, I was told there was spotting and too much wear, along with some styles being more than 18 months old. A few dresses were just bought, never worn, and American eagle jeans never go out of style, but were still new regardless. I've never received much for selling to them, but this is ridiculous. I pretty much emptied my closet to sell today and received nothing short of laziness in return. I will NEVER return to platos closet. This company is a complete waste of time. It gets worse each time I return, and I'm more than irritated with putting forth an effort for lazy people. There's no point in running this location. I'm honestly shocked that they have as much inventory that they do, considering how closed minded and selective they are with the sellers. I think this company has forgotten that the public basically stocks their entire store . Should definitely be more grateful for their customers, without us they wouldn't...
