Me, my husband, and stepdaughter came in a few days ago to place an order. He ordered a grande coffee with vanilla cream. Whoever made the coffee filled the cup to the brim, and when he took the top off to add his sugar, coffee went all over the counter. The young lady eventually cleaned it up, after bringing an empty cup over to transfer the remaining liquid. She was also curious, wanting to know, “What do you want me to do?” I thought about saying, ‘use some common sense and not fill hot coffee to the brim of the cup.’ But I said nothing. We eventually got our order and left. Then today, at the same Starbucks, I ordered a Venti iced White Chocolate Mocha drink with sweet vanilla cold foam and 3 shots. The cashier instead tried to give me a venti hot drink. I told him I wanted it iced as requested. He said ok and went on. He came back a minute or two later with my drink. But instead of sweet vanilla cold foam, I had whip cream. I blew my horn several times to get his attention to say I had the wrong drink. He deliberately ignored me, which I figured was coming by the way he slammed the window after giving me the wrong drink for the SECOND time in minutes. I mean he was standing right at the window. He never walked off, so I know he heard me blowing to get his attention. After sitting for about 2-3 minutes trying to get his attention, a tall young man finally came to ask me if everything was ok. I explained that I had the wrong drink with the whip cream instead of my cold foam. He apologized, remade my drink and I was on my way, after noticing the boy who ignored me looking directly at me as I was handed my proper drink. No idea of his name but he had a head full curly hair…like a mop. $10 for one drink is wild and the gall to display an attitude because of your inability to hear and get the order right is even wilder. If I was dying of thirst, I still wouldn’t...
Read moreThis was my original area pick, when I'm not driving into Memphis for a small local shop, which i prefer. I can sit for hours here with a french press and stay in a vibe, working on a project or just working on refocusing my mind. Usually pretty chill in this one. But also very chilly. Polar even. Bring a coat in the summer. Your bones will thank you by the time your work is done. The baristas have changed recently but this is the more down to earth crew out of all of the 4 on Goodman road. They get it. They can't help if their store is mostly extremely busy with the Frappucino set. Not that that is an issue. It just dictates the vibe and the volume level and type. Moms, toddlers, teens full of angst, divorcées trying to flirt with each other and instead saving me a ticket to the comedy club. There are some folks here just to chill or create, or maybe just read the paper, but not many to vibe over straight coffee. Most are on a sugar mission and add a little coffee on the side. Anyway, I miss some of my old baristas who have moved on to different treks... but the ones there now are working hard to keep the flavor going. Most of them know me and can anticipate what im having. I never question how big a tip i should leave them. They work hard. I think the management changed too recently. I never see the original store Mgr there anymore. I'm watching to see how it goes. But overall, this larger Starbucks on Goodman is...
Read moreI am sooo disappointed in this Starbucks considering this is my stop before going to work but no longer! Tonight I came at 905 pm which I checked before coming and it stated 930 pm closing time! Plenty of time right? Wrong! They were extremely slow but I waited patiently just to get to place my order and they said oh we are close! Like really! And for those who have been to this Starbucks knows once you are in you can’t maneuver out! When I asked for the manager they told me to pull around just to pull around and they wouldn’t come to the window! I go knock on the front door and they ignored me! I called 3 times and no answer! They answered on the fourth. When I asked for the manager and explained how upset I was because of the wait just to come up empty handed. She said oh you should have come earlier. Like really?!!! I will never ever return back to this Starbucks even if it were the last Starbucks in the midsouth. And if they don’t turn around their customer service, going out of business is exactly where it will head! Now I see why more and more people are shopping local when it comes to coffee! Better customer service for half the price! So...
