Thanks to the makeup artist Soul at this Nordstrom's,learned something new and was able to find products to help with my maturing skin.Soul is not just a makeup artist, when you sit down in their chair, you're getting care from an expert esthetician. With years of experience working with a wide variety of skin textures and tones. Thanks to Soul and the phenomenal customer service that was provided,my terrible experience was turned into a beautiful one.My makeup tastes and skin care needs had drastically changed as soon as I turned 40 and I was lost about what to do. I craved a more natural beautifully tailored look. I needed to find an artist to help me with the drastic changes that I wanted my makeup to be. Also, how much my skin had changed within the months leading up to my 40th birthday and how those changes continued once the weather warmed up.I got online at this Nordstrom location and looked up availabilities of the different artists and decided on an older woman from the LaMer counter.I had always wanted to try LaMer and thought that this would be an ideal time for me to do so.Thinking this Nordstrom's was not like a Sephora experience,I knew that I'd be spending more money and was prepared. When I approached (Mary) at the LaMer counter,I asked if she was available, she told me that a person only came once a year for skin care consultation. She barely even looked at me long enough for it to be a respectful response. Her tone was cold with a bit of dismissiveness. Then she continued to put away things after answering my question, keeping her back to me. So I approached another counter,Estee Lauder with the same question and I was told that I needed to schedule an appointment.I thought that since the women that worked the LaMer and Estee Lauder counter had online availability and they were not serving customers, that me getting service would not be a problem. Not feeling very welcome,I decided to just walk around and look for something I would like to buy without help from anyone. I usually carry a Coach purse and dress a bit nicer when I go into stores,so people don't treat me poorly. If I do not dress the part,I am usually treated terribly, despite having money and my intentions being pure. That day I wanted to dress as close my style as I could, beautiful black flowy summer clothes, a basic tote bag and I had no makeup on.I understood that the first two women I had approached didn't consider me worth their time, by how they responded to my simple requests. How their body language, tone, even response to my questions was treated. They had used excuses for denying service that is allowed by their company, so they wouldn't have to help me. Having experienced this type of treatment before, I knew that it would mean nothing for me to raise a fuss.Disheartened,I went to where the fragrance I was interested in was and that's when Soul approached me.Having Soul approach me, with welcoming and warm energy, offering assistance, I immediately felt like a welcomed customer. Soul asked what I was looking for and I brought up my skincare concerns, then asked if there was any availabilities. Soul immediately sat me down in the chair and started helping me sort out what I was looking for. Not only were my skincare needs addressed, Soul asked if I had a budget in mind. After my skin care needs were met,I was sent home with a sample to try and immediately fell in love with the cleanser. I made a follow-up appointment to get help with my desired new makeup routine. Soul translated exactly what I was looking for perfectly. I had never looked so beautiful in such natural makeup. The customer service, cosmetic and skin care expertise provided by Soul is top tier, next level and the best.At both appointments Soul provided such amazing service that I wanted to spend more money. I could not have asked for a better experience following a terrible one.Thank you so much to Soul, for helping me achieve my skincare and make up needs. For treating me...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI'm honestly really disappointed in the experience I had here today. I paid a lot of money to get a dress altered for an event I was going to, and I was told it would be ready by 10a as I was traveling out of town that morning. I never received a text or email that it was finished, so I called on my way there to ensure it was done and when I spoke to the man on the phone (I don't remember his name) he was very condescending when I kindly asked where the parking spot was for curbside as I was unfamiliar, he then proceeded to hang up on me. When I got to the spot, I still hadn't received a text or email with the number to call so I called Nordstrom to find out how to proceed. The only kind and considerate person I spoke to (he deserves recognition for this) was a gentleman named Tony. In the process of redirecting the call for me it dropped so I decided to come inside. The girl at one of the desks in jewelry tried to say they were still opening and probably couldn't get to the phone (it was nearly 10:30a) and wouldn't listen that the call had dropped, and then just told me to go to the third floor and ask. When I got to the 3rd floor I had no idea where to go exactly and when I approached an associate, she very deliberately finished up her task of fixing wallets before even acknowledging my presence at all. When I asked where alterations was, she very rudely told me it was all the way across the floor. After finally getting to alterations to ask about my dress, I noticed my dress hanging up. When I was asked what I needed help with I pointed out that I was there to pick up that dress, (I motioned to it) and was told it wasn't mine after asking my name, (it had someone else's ticket on it). The associate that told me repeatedly that it wasn't my garment was Brandon, and said that if I wasn't the name nor knew the name, it wasn't mine. (I knew what my dress looked like so I was pretty certain it was my dress, as I had brought it in not bought it at Nordstrom). After speaking to yet another associate about my dress, I was told it wasn't ready yet and they had to go get it. So she left to go get my dress only to come back empty handed. Not two minutes later, Brandon returned with the dress I had originally pointed to, stating it didn't belong to the other customer. He then proceeded to berate a 3rd associate for placing the wrong ticket on the dresses; who told him she hadn't been the one to place the tickets, it was someone named Alex.
Nordstrom, do better. This was such a an atrocious experience, and it makes me never want to come back here at all. Treat people better. Customers and employees. Thank you Tony for being the only kind person during this whole ordeal. I hope you get a raise, praise and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI love Nordstrom, and Nordstrom Rack. I felt that the service was fairly good, even though I didn't dress up I felt the employees were judging because I didn't wear designer clothes or that they were suspicious of me. What I did wear was shorts and a plan t-shirt, and I didn't plan to go to the mall that day so I was feeling judged heavily or they thought I would shoplift because of my clothing appearance. I had worked for the Nordstrom Company and I felt that even if I did not dress still employees should be acknowledge and be treated with courtesy and not assume just because someone who didn't wear designer clothes for a day that they are a bad customer and be monitored like a hawk which the environment was not so friendly. Also when I had asked for questions on where the price tag was on a few shirt that were not labeled with the correct price or where the dressing rooms were I was received with a disgust look so that definitely doesn't make coming into a store and received a disgust look or that they were to busy chatting amongst the other employees and ignoring me. But one employee who I unfortunately didn't get the name of the person, who helped with us at the checkout counter he was very nice and professional and I got to talk briefly with him about how he liked his job so far and the experiences working for the Nordstrom Company. I do understand the environment is different at every Nordstrom but I mean treating the clients who shop there with courtesy and respect because if they were too recieved with looks of utter disgust doesn't make the customer feel valued shopping. But this just my opinions. I can't wait to shop and see other Nordstroms and Racks...
