Ordered a fried rice to go, and four pieces of nigiri to eat while I wait for my fried rice. The fried rice was done in less than ten minutes, and I sat and waited 35 minutes for my sushi. 35 minutes for four pieces of sushi. There was up to three guys working at the sushi bar, one person should of been delegated to expediting smaller orders rather than everyone working one at a time on the same order, regardless of the size. I had two unagi, and two taro. All four pieces of nigiri could of used more rice, or less fish. Fish to rice ratio wasn't proportionate. My first unagi was fine, the second was torn in half, and put back together held in place by sauce and seaweed. My first taro had bits of fish egg embedded into the rice, from some other order within the last 35 minutes, maybe longer. The second taro had unagi sauce smeared on the side. Are we not wiping down the station after every order? Are we not changing gloves, washing hands? The wasabi had dried out chunks in it. The fried rice unfortunately came with a side of chopped lettuce and sauce, and a cup of miso soup. It was probably on the menu and I missed it. I would have preferred more fried rice and nothing extra. The miso soup was bitter and tasted like it boiled too long. The lettuce is lettuce. Fried rice was generic as well. Lots of atmosphere, I'll give them that. The display case of plastic food is exactly like any side street restaurant in Japan, and actually had me feeling nostalgic. Servers and sushi bar needs to communicate with BOH better, and the sushi needs to be faster...

We visited at 6pm on a Sunday. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff on arrival. They were busy, so we expected it to take some time to get our food when we arrived. We ordered 5 sushi rolls and 2 appetizers. We received 1 appetizer 30 min later. It was hot and fresh and tasted good. (I can’t remember the name, but it was the diced octopus one.)

We were ignored completely for the next 45 minutes. We drank all our water, talked and played little table games, and watched 5 other tables that arrived after us receive their food, eat, and two tables even completely finished, paid, and left. The waitress stopped by at the 1.5 hour mark just as we were considering leaving, and said our food would be ready in just a few minutes apologizing for the wait. She was friendly, but we didn’t see much of her.

We received our food 5-10 min later. We would have at that point been happy and dismissed the wait as maybe they forgot our order, or maybe the kitchen was behind, but when we got our food (2 rolls were fried and one had shrimp tempura in it) it was clear these rolls had been prepared a long time ago. It was reminiscent of hour old McDonald French fries if you know what I mean.

Maybe we just drew the short straw this evening, but as the only experience I’ve had there, I’m not inclined...

We went in Sunday night around 8pm (1.5 hours before they close) We got seafood yaki soba that was pretty good but the calamari in it was hit and miss (two pieces were great, three were super chewy.) Miso soup was good. Soft shell crab was heavily breaded and tasted more like fryer oil than anything else. Sushi rolls seemed good when they were set in front of us, HOWEVER... the staff was cleaning the floor with strong smelling cleaner. They were working on the bar area when we arrived and I could smell it when we first walked in but it wasn't too noticeable at the table, yet. When the hot food arrived it was enough to cover up the smell but once the sushi rolls came out the people that were cleaning had made it over to just a few feet away from where we were sitting. The smell was just overpowering and I had to get the rest put in a box to go. I don't know how good the sushi was when they plated it but it certainly wasn't great after an hour of sitting in the car. The owner was there supervising the whole cleaning process and apologized for the smell, apparently they clean the floor every Sunday night. I would STRONGLY recommend that they wait until after the restaurant is closed, the smell of floor cleaner is enough to completely ruin a dining...

The best sushi presentation in Spokane! Sashimi and fish were very fresh and tasty. Price is also fair. However all their rolls (Godzilla, ninja, rainbow, dragon, scorpion, etc) are poor and does not taste good. Do not come here for rolled sushi! There is also a robot that deliver food and sing happy birthday. Which is pretty cool. The kids seem to love it Service is poor, we asked for water refill and ginger two times, but they keep forgetting. We had to wait 25 mins for water and ginger! The wait staff were just talking and joking around in the front. The stuff we ordered: Cooked rolls: dragon, scorpion, Godzilla, etc were all bad and mediocre compared to other places in town Baked Mussles: Overcooked but taste scrumptious Seafood Yakisoba: One of the best in town!! Chef fried rice: Salty, and taste bad Sashimi Deluxe: Lots of Sashimi for $29. Very fresh and well presented Salmon Tango: Beautiful presentation, sauce was delicious Yellowtail Japaleno: Fresh and delicious Uni sashimi: Very Fresh, sweet and bitter Squid salad: Alright, nothing special Ninja roll: mediocre and does not taste good at all Rainbow roll: mediocre compare to sushi blossom, sushi house, q sushi and other places

Shiki is an exceptional restaurant that offers a delightful dining experience. The inviting ambiance and warm hospitality make you feel right at home from the moment you step inside. The hibachi dishes at Shiki are truly spectacular. Each bite of the perfectly cooked hibachi dishes is bursting with flavor and leaves you craving more. The Hawaiian salmon poke bowl is a standout dish, combining fresh, high-quality ingredients with a harmonious blend of flavors. The tender salmon, creamy avocado, and zesty dressing create a satisfying and refreshing meal. Don't miss the fried cheesecake at Shiki. The crispy exterior gives way to a warm, gooey center that is pure decadence. It's the perfect way to end your meal on a sweet note. Overall, Shiki is a culinary paradise that offers a modern twist on delicious dishes. Whether you're a fan of hibachi, poke bowls, or indulgent desserts, this restaurant has something for everyone. Experience a delightful dining journey at Shiki that will leave you coming back for more.

Instagram: themysticmuse_ This place exceeded all expectations during my recent two-day trip. I dined here for both lunch and dinner on all four occasions, and every experience was exceptional. The cozy atmosphere paired with the incredibly humble staff made each visit memorable. What truly impressed me was the variety of fried rolls available, each one a delightful surprise. I couldn't possibly pick a favorite; they were all delectable. The extensive selection of fried rolls ensures there's something for everyone. I also had the pleasure of trying their tofu teriyaki, a generous portion perfect for sharing between two. It was delicious, perfectly cooked, and bursting with flavor. Shiki Sushi Bar is an absolute gem in Spokane, offering not only exceptional food but also a warm and inviting ambiance. Whether you're a sushi aficionado or new to Japanese cuisine, this place is a must-visit. The experience here is nothing short of five-star quality.
