If I ever see that Scott from flooring is still working at this Home Depot when I shop there, I will never go to this Streetsboro location again. I had the worst customer experience of my entire life with him.
It all started when I decided to go through Home Depot for my floor installation project. It began as a pretty good experience. I talked with Rob from flooring who was really nice and helpful. After the measurements were made, Rob got me the estimate and I called him to just make a few changes with it. He was really nice about it all. I decided, it would be easiest to go back and make the final changes in person. So when my wife and I got to the Home Depot we asked for Rob.
I was told Rob was no longer in flooring, that he moved departments or something. So the people there had another guy, who I don't recall his name, fill in for Rob and go over my changes with me. So far, so good. Well when I was working with this new guy (who was really nice too), in comes Scott... The man of the day. Apparently, from what I've been able to deduce, Scott was the guy who was supposed to take over with me, but I didn't know this at the time. Scott walked by and said something about how he's the guy whose been working on our quote, and he expressed frustration and then left. I never said a word to him (note this, because this is important for later). As I continued working on the changes, some questions came up about the estimate, and I actually asked the guy I was working with if Scott could come over to clear some things up. I was told, that Scott had left for the day (note this, because Scott was on his way out anyway). So we figured everything out and I paid for the order.
As we drove home, my wife and I discussed how strange it was that Scott seemed so frustrated, we speculated maybe it was because he gets commission or something and that's what he's upset about. The world may never know.. maybe he's just a sad man.
So about a week or so later I noticed that there was a mistake on my invoice and that I was actually owed a little money. So I called Home Depot and they connected me with Scott... This is my first conversation with Scott.. It did not end well.. I told Scott about the problem and he said it was because that was the order that was entered and they need to refund the entire thing and issue a new order. That's all fine and I understand that, but I asked him why it was wrong in the first place. I was with the other guy in person and on his computer screen, it looked right. His response sounded sassy and was along the lines
"Well if you recall, when I told you that I was the one working on your order, you told me that you wanted Roy and that you just wanted to work with someone else less competent than me."
He continued to go on and that's when I interrupted and told him (firmly but not angrily) that that was a "complete lie". And it was a lie, I never said anything to Scott, and I never said I wanted to work with someone less competent (why the heck would anyone say that?). In fact, instead of taking over which he could have, Scott went home when he saw my wife and I anyway! Plus how rude is it to call your colleague less competent when he just made an honest mistake and was actually nice to us.
Scott got really mad and said along the lines, "I don't work with customers who call me a liar. I'm cancelling your order and we won't be working with you!"
I was like, "what?" and he just hung up! I immediately called back and got in touch with his manager to leave a formal complaint and to ensure my order wasn't getting cancelled. I also worked with a really nice rep named Vikki, to resolve the original issues with my order and get refunded. They assured me they would deal with Scott and told me it was unacceptable which I appreciate. The way they handle it I leave to their discretion. But my discretion is that I'm not going back there if I...
Read moreToday, Monday august 12th at 10 am I went to return a 3 pack of paint rollers since they did a horrible job when I stained my porch. I bought my $200 stain at this home depo last Saturday. I asked the paint specialist what she recommended she said once she finishes shaking my stain she’ll look. She forgot so I ended up buying these paint rollers that again did a horrible job rolling out my stain. So since it did an awful job I thought I would return them and get better rollers. Today I went meant with a unnecessary amount of hostility from the customer service department an older woman with longer brown red hair saw the used paint brush and tossed the package back at me saying it’s used we cant return it. I said i never heard that and if that was the case why dose it not say it on the recipe under return policy. She kept raising her voice and getting more and more hostile saying we can’t return this is used. I told her I understand that but if that’s so why is it not on the return policy on the receipt. Walmart and other big retailers will let you return things after it’s used so why should I assume any difference from a big company like home depo? She kept repeating herself like I did not hear her. I asked for the manager and she was very kind and understanding. She heard my story out and gave me a refund while explaining the return policy. I still don’t agree with the return policy since it’s not posted on the receipt. But she was kind and gave me a return. If it was not for the manager I would have given this store a 1 star. I will keep this in mind for the next time I consider buying from Home Depot. Especially in...
Read moreThis is my first review. I bought 3 individual 100$ Apple gift cards. When the lady punched them in it showed they were not activated. Home Depo would not give me my money back , kept me waiting 1 hour 20 minutes trying to figure it out. They sent me on my way and told me to contact Apple. I have spent over an hour with Apple support and Apple have informed me the card were never activated by Home Depo. So home Depo has taken and kept my money with giving me dead unloaded cards and are unwilling to help. It is Easter Sunday and I will head to the Streetsboro police department to file a police report. I have tried to call the Home Depo multiple in Streetsboro to inform them of the information Apple has shared with me and they keep putting me on hold for endless amounts of time. I am out 300$ so far as of now and approx 3 hours of my own time trying to handle this with no care in the world from the Home Depo in Streetsboro. It's discussing and in my humble opinion a reverse theft. If I walked out the door with $300 of good and no money paid I'd would be in jail and facing a theft charge. A store takes $300 of my money and send me out the door with zero product on me to spend my time with a chance to be made...
