The Venue is fine, but whatever happened to the bookings for this place? Whoever’s in charge of scheduling events/bookings I’m not sure if it’s a budget issue or what but I can’t say in the last 5 years I’ve been excited for any show they’ve promoted. Like who are these people and why can’t we get anyone good to come perform here anymore? Kinda sad. I know a lot of locals feel the same way. And now that after my review they decided to take it personally instead of a helpful suggestion we should run down a list of what they’re schedule has been over the last few years, mostly tribute bands and showcases for amateurs, now while it isn’t bad to have those events, just as a reminder the Sherman theatre has had legendary artists and bands come here in the late 2000’s and 2010’s ranging from train- to big country artists to popular rap like Mac miller. But now we have Micheal Jackson tribute and indie rock showcases. There’s no other game in town for entertainment so of course you sell enough to break even, we don’t know the finances on the building so for you to use that as a reason you have a boring schedule doesn’t make sense. I’m just simply stating just being a local and interacting with other locals we do feel underwhelmed with what you guys put out. If you want to sit there and tell me sleepy hollow and sheff g are your biggest ploys of the year and be proud of that then idk what else to say you must not be understand. Magic shows and tribute bands and showcases are fine but if that’s the schedule all year every year you get bored of going. That’s all I’m trying to say. Your venue is fine this is about booking, and there’s no reason to email you by the way, you clearly book with a bias so it wouldn’t matter if I...
Read moreI'm really disappointed in this venue. Saw an awesome VIP showing here but it was disorganized. People that didn't pay for the pre-show area made it in before us making us have to stand in the back. We did not receive the lanyard mentioned on the website, neither organizers nor box office had any info. That was forgivable.
When you go to a show with multiple bands you want to see, it's smart to buy merch ASAP so they have your sizes/selection available. Not only that but bands sell fragile items like records, etc. Then you stash it in your car or check them with your coat. What bothered me most was there was NO RE-ENTRY allowed and the coat check was CLOSED. I questioned staff and security about it and they said "Well it's a nice day". It was in the 40s... they expected us to sweat in the crowd the entire show and not buy merch and could care less. ("You could throw your jacket in a corner"... --Good for nothing security.)
I purposely checked that there would be a coat check to avoid this issue. Thank the universe for Kristelle, merch for Hail The Sun. She was kind enough to stash our bundle of merch and jackets behind her counter til the show was over. ❤️
All this place cares about are their expensive ass booze sales. If they can give out wristbands for people over 21, they can do the same thing for customer re-entry. Put yourself in our shoes... Nobody wants to go to a show where they have to wear all their merch + a jacket. I saw people in the crowd carrying vinyl records... Poor fans.
TLDR- GREAT show, regretable customer experience for a...
Read moreWheelchair Accessibility: This review focuses on ADA compliance and wheelchair accessibility in the venue itself. Although Sherman Theater doesn't have designated ADA sections, they made every effort to accommodate people with mobility devices during my most recent visit to see Blue October. When I explained that I'm a wheelchair user to the box office, I was instructed to show up about 15 minutes before doors opened. I lined up with a few other wheelchair and scooter users. We were greeted by an amazing security staff member named Danny who took great care in making sure that we made it to the front row on the right corner of the stage. He parted the crowd for us and politely asked other general admission ticket holders to allow us in front so as to make sure we could see the stage free of obstructions. Danny was extremely attentive throughout the show by checking on us all periodically and making sure our area remained free of obstructions. When the show was over he was right there to help us get through the crowd with minimal difficulty. I really feel like Danny made every effort to make sure that I had the same chance to experience the show as anyone else who pays full price for a ticket. I've been to many shows in the past at The Sherman Theater when I had to advocate for myself and even though they typically worked out, it was always a very anxious experience. Thanks to Danny and what felt like an impromptu ADA seating section, I won't hesitate to by tickets to shows there ever again. I'm confident I'll be taken care of once I get...
