Cornet Falls — Attraction in Telluride

Absolutely stunning waterfall! With that being said, I read reviews and it said family friendly, it was NOT family friendly! Very narrow and slippery in many many places. Loose dirt with nothing to grab onto. Very dangerous. I took my 5 year old on this hike and although the end was rewarding, in many places I was terrified feeling as if we were going to fall down into the raging river. My 5 year old was in fear and scared. If it were not for her dad we may have not made it. This hike is for experienced hikers and not young children. This trail needs some work to make it safer for families. Feeling relieved we made it, but feeling upset that the reviews are misleading on how easy this hike is. It is not an easy hike. Very...

Cornet Creek Falls is an 80 foot waterfall just outside Telluride. The trailhead is at the north end of Aspen Street, but there's no parking here. We parked at Carhenge and made the short walk across town to the trailhead. This is also the trailhead for Jud Wiebe Trail. The hike to Cornet Creek Falls is short, just a quarter mile, but the trail is steep and narrow in places. The water tumbles over a beautiful red rock cliff and it's quite a sight, even in low water.
