Ouray Historical District — Attraction in Telluride

Stayed at The Immogene in the heart of downtown. The rooms are updated and modern. They have a beautiful lobby with a semi-private bar and a rooftop bar that is cozy and warm. I would suggest coming into town from Durango and Silverton....unless you have a big camper! Hairpin turns and some of the most beautiful views! The town is in a valley, and there is a huge waterfall that cascades down into the valley and to a river that runs through it. There is a small park at the base of the falls that is worth finding. Also, from what we heard, a lot of True Grit with John Wayne was filmed here. An hour away from Black Canyon of the Gunnison, one of my favorite...

Ouray is quaint and surrounded by beautiful mountains, but not the friendliest towards visitors. They know they need tourism money, they just don't like the tourists themselves and will often let it be known both verbally with rude service people and through actions in the way they treat people.

COVID has made things worse so probably...

The people of this town are some of the nicest people I've ever met the ice climbing is fantastic as well as the view and restaurants around. I would gladly come back to this...
