If I could give 10 stars I would totally do that!

First, I wanted to mention their filtered water. Unfortunately almost everywhere I come in the US they have water with chlorine. It smells and tastes like pool water. Somehow in Europe they don’t do that. I just have to carry my own water bottle everywhere I eat out in the US as a back up. This place’s water was clean. I couldn’t smell and taste anything except cleanliness. Later they said that they do use an RO filter system. What a concept!

We had a party of 4. All of us got different meals and we were amazed by the taste and quality. I ordered polenta. I come from Europe and I was very excited to eat something that is not American. Unfortunately for me American food is either too sweet or to salty, or too fried (deep fried!) The polenta was better than I could imagine! I’ve had it many times in my life but this one exceeded all my expectations. It was well cooked without too much sugar or salt, it had at least 3 types of mushrooms. Not those tasteless white mushrooms, the ones you get at a regular grocery store, but real ones! The kind you would go and pick up in the forest yourself (if you know what I mean). It also had these other spices in a perfect sauce which I can’t remember and some Parmesan cheese. I even ordered a second one, it was just so good.

Later we got 2 desserts and shared them among us. We chose the cheesecake and the peanut butter cookie. I haven’t tried the cookie (not a big fan of combining chocolate and peanut butter) but my family said it was very good. But the cheesecake… it was just perfect with the right amount sugar, not too much, with blueberries. All other desserts I tried here in the US are just too sweet. This cheesecake was great in all the meanings. The only thing I wish there was more of it in that glass jar :)

I really enjoyed this food, probably for the first time since I got to the US when I didn’t have to cook for myself, but could really enjoy eating out.

Our waiter Cole was knowledgeable and knew everything about the ingredients! He could answer all our questions about the meals and didn’t give out empty words just to say something. Thank you.

I thank you, chef, for this amazing food! If some day I am back to this town again, I want to try your other meals...

Food and drink were fantastic but unfortunately it kind of ends there. I was so thankful that as a party of two we were able to be seated without a reservation. I also understand that everybody is short staffed, but again at this caliber of a restaurant your staff should want to make good tips right? The bartender was “sick” as he said and thus didn’t talk much. In fact he probably said two words, so okay. If you’re sick please don’t come to work and serve paying customers. Secondly, our server did not try once to sell any of the food on the menu. Our apps came out before she even came back to get a drink order, which then came once our apps were done. I’m sorry but as someone who works in hospitality, you sell your food, especially at a $50 price point per dish. In addition, if I ask a question about the food I don’t expect to get the answer of “oh I’m not sure”. This server seemed so checked out and I’m not convinced she knew your menu at all. I got a steak which was rare instead of medium - which was fine, but again did the server ask me to cut into my steak? Not once. Did she ever come back to check on how our experience was? No. Being a local to a neighboring town, I would not recommend this restaurant to my friends or family. Again, food is excellent but the service...

Absolutely awful experience. My wife and I had 7:30 reservations on a Sunday evening which we arrived about 10 minutes early for and were seated promptly. At that point our dining experience went south quickly. We found the menu to be a scaled down version of their onine offering which was disappointing because we chose the restaurant based on the advertised menu. We compromised and ordered drinks, an appetizer and and entrees. The drinks and appetizers came out in a reasonable time but our entrees were not served for over an hour. When finally served, the steak which I ordered medium rare was practically well done. I informed the server that I was not pleased with how the steak was cooked and he returned it to the kitchen. Over 45 minutes later my wife had finisher her entree and my steak was still not on the table. At that point we informed the staff that we were tired of waiting and paid for what we ate and left. Frankly, the service at the brewery next door by "Mr Grumpy Pants", as advertised by the brewer, was far superior to the "fine dining at the Brickhouse". My final compromise of the night was a ham sandwich in my hotel room, not the New York strip I ordered but way more satisfying. My rating - zero on a scale...

Great dining & great experience. I enjoyed the personal touch of having a conversation with the hostess to confirm our reservation. Remember to call ahead, as reservations are only taken on the phone. Coming in the winter, it was nice to be welcomed in from the cold and behind a thick curtain. This kept the draft from entering while we were dining as well - what a great touch! We were seated near one of the front windows, which looks out to Main St and the outdoor firepit. The wine list is extensive, and keep in mind that many are available by the bottle only. The cocktails are so well crafted, so much that I enjoyed my husband’s bourbon drink for once - the Chef’s Bourbon Infusion. The lamb and prosciutto meatball was juicy and if I could have ordered a quart of the polenta to-go, I would have. I often don’t choose a vegetarian entree, and glad I changed course for this meal. The Eggplant & Cauliflower had such rich flavor, so vegetarians, know you have a truly crafted meal option. The short rib melted in your mouth and was the perfect portion size. Lastly, we couldn’t resist dessert - and ricotta cheesecake is not something to pass up. I’m looking forward to our next meal here!
