We stayed at the Beaumont Hotel for two nightsâone in a standard room and one in a one-bedroom suiteâand we couldnât have been more delighted. From the moment we arrived, the staff was exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and accommodating, making us feel right at home.||The hotel itself is absolutely stunning. Lovingly restored in the 2000s at great expense, it now shines as a true gem of Coloradoâs history. Operated by a wonderful family that clearly cares about both the building and the guests, it feels like stepping back into another eraâyet with all the modern comforts youâd hope for. The electricity, plumbing, and air conditioning are all state-of-the-art, and the hotel even has modern A/C a working elevator, which are extremely convenient for a hotel constructed in the 1880âs.||The interior is filled with antiques and period furnishings, giving every hallway and room character. The grand staircase is gorgeous, among many festires. Our suite was spacious and beautifully appointed, while the standard room was cozy and comfortable. Both offered the unique atmosphere you only find in historic landmark hotels. We saw the Presidential suite where President Theodore Roosevelt once stayed, and it is stunningly magnificent, though perhaps more so now than it was when he stayed. ||One thing to note: this is not a generic chain hotel with computerized key cards and cookie-cutter rooms. The Beaumont has a personality all its own. Thatâs exactly what makes it special, but it does mean that travelers should come with an appreciation for historic hotels.||The location could not be betterâright in the heart of Ouray, surrounded by wonderful shops and restaurants, with some of the most breathtaking mountain views in all of Colorado and the Mountain West. Just stepping outside feels like walking into a postcard.||We absolutely recommend the Beaumont Hotel to anyone visiting Ouray. It is elegant, historic, comfortable, and...
Read moreI have been to the Beaumont Hotel on 2 occasions, before covid, for the Halloween parties they used to host. They have since quit doing those, but they were tremendously fun!
We just had my daughter's wedding reception at the Beaumont. It was really a tremendous event!! Of course, the building is one of the more historically iconic buildings in Ouray. The service was absolutely top notch! Chad and Jen, the owners, were out there helping the staff. It was fun to talk to them all. The staff team was so present and helpful; constantly refreshing drinks and removing used dishes.
I can't afford to endure a 100 person reception for awhile, but I really look forward to coming to the facility for another event in the future (Halloween Party....Halloween Party....Halloween Party đ„ł).
If I had to pick an item for improvements, it would be to synchronize the time of the event with when the sun goes behind the towering mountain on the west side of town (for an outdoor patio event). We started our outdoor reception in their courtyard at 5pm, and the sun did not disappear until approximately 6:15 or 6:30pm-ish. During the planning meeting, I would have expected this to be commented on. Yes...it was an abnormally warm afternoon; but the sun is always going to dominate that space until it slips behind the mountain.
For larger events, the Beaumont is one of the best one stop shops in town. Many venues in the Ouray area do not have a kitchen to support a large event. Our caterer was able to do all of their food prep inside the Beaumont; which greatly reduces the logistics of the event.
THANK YOU, Beaumont team, for a...
Read moreWe recently stayed at The Beaumont Hotel & Spa and were really impressed by how beautiful the hotel looks, lovely character, beautiful setting and overall a very charming place.
The room itself was absolutely lovely , great space, very comfortable bed, nice size, and a lovely bathroom too.
We were told there was a bar upstairs, so after dinner elsewhere we returned about 7ish to try and find it, only to discover it had already shut early, which was a shame. We then went to Rooseveltâs Tavern instead. The setting itself was lovely.
The bar closes at 9pm, which we were warned about prior to our visit. We do think itâs a bit strange for a hotel bar to shut so early, but as the whole town seems to close up quite early too, itâs understandable. The problem was they asked us if we wanted last orders, so we ordered more drinks, but just 10 minutes later we were told we had to leave. We still had drinks left but were basically told we needed to move. The staff pointed us to the main welcome hall and said we could either sit there or take the drinks to our room. Unfortunately, most of the chairs and sofas in the hall had broken springs, making it very uncomfortable, so in the end it just felt like we were being pushed back to our room.
We did take our drinks back to the room, but ended up leaving them there and heading out to a local bar instead, we found FullTilt Saloon, which was still open and had a great atmosphere. We ended up enjoying the rest of the evening there instead
Itâs a beautiful hotel, but after 9pm thereâs really no service or hospitality...
