Bulk Bookstore — Attraction in Tigard

I would not recommend using Bulk Bookstore. They seem to have some major communication issues with their distribution centers. I placed an order of 100 books on March 17th. They guarantee you will receive your books within 4-10 business days and that it may take up to 5 business days just to get the tracking number (which seems like a red flag now). When I reached the point of 7 business days and there was no update on my status or email updates, I sent an email. I did not receive a reply after my request of a status update. So I called and they assured me that the books had probably shipped. I let them know this was my first order with them. I run a nonprofit veterans foundation and these books were for our Vietnam veterans in honor of Vietnam veterans day. They told me they were positive the books had shipped and would arrive in time. I had already placed an order with Amazon just in case so i would have some books on hand. This morning, the 9th day after I placed my order, I was informed that the books were out of stock!!!! Why did they wait until the last minute to tell me? Why was there no communication with their distribution center? Now I am running all over town buying books from Barnes and Noble and I placed another order with Amazon. If you do decide to order from them, have a back up plan because they do not provide status updates. If I had not called, I would not have known that the book was out of stock. If they had told me earlier, I would have plenty of time to make other arrangements. They did provide me with a refund...since they took the money as soon as I placed the order...but having used a debit card, it will be a while before we have the money again and I am now paying for the books out-of-pocket. This has turned into a nightmare. Even though the customer service ladies were very nice on the phone, I would hate for anyone to have to go through what we are going...

I cannot say enough amazing things about Bulk Bookstore! I had two huge, kinda tricky orders to place, and Mike and his team when above and beyond to provide amazing service. I especially appreciate how Bulk Bookstore provides a quote based on current book availability; this is so helpful for planning purposes. Additionally, their book selection is incredible. I thought there might be limitations to the variety of books available, and I was very wrong. I was able to find every book on my list (and discovered a few new books that I just had to include on my list). I was also surprised at how quickly the orders arrived. I've placed similarly large orders with other retailers only to wait weeks and weeks for shipment (and have had little customer service support). Mike and his team frequently reach out to ensure all questions are answered, and provide amazing support. The Bulk Bookstore is a well-kept secret among organizations serving large populations and running reading programs like the Peaches and Sourcream Children's Foundation, Inc. While we deeply value our partnership with our local Barnes & Noble Potomac Yard in Alexandria, VA, after extensive research into other book vendors, we have yet to find anyone who can match or surpass Bulk Bookstore's pricing. Additionally, their efficiency in meeting deadlines is remarkable.
