Glamour Couture — Attraction in Town of Clarkstown

I was told my prom dress would be done by June 1st. No time, just come in June 1st, which I did. I was already skeptical as to why my dress alteration would take over a month and a half, and only be ready a week before my prom. I showed up, and they demanded to see a text or call saying my dress was ready, which I had not received, once again, because I was never informed I would be getting a text. She told me she would go check and see the progress on my dress in the back, only for me to find out there is none. They had not even started on my dress, in fact, I will bet money that they had not looked at it since I came in in April. They then inform me that it will be ready in 2 hours, meaning they would have only spent 2 total hours, if that, on my dress, over a month span of time. To add on to all of this, I was charged nearly 300 dollars for simple alterations that my normal seamstress would have done, but it was more convenient to do it here. It blows my mind they do alterations on the same day you are supposed to receive it. I understand it is prom season and many dresses need to be done, but I came in in April, and it hasn’t even been started on. I took my dress back and now have to rush to get it done by my seamstress, who can thank god have it done. I also live over an hour away, and when I told the workers that, they told me to just wait. They take your money, and a lot of time as well, just for them to rush your dress. If you are looking to get alterations or dresses, you are much better going somewhere else where customer service is valued, and where they take time and effort on your dress. Glamour Couture is definitely where you want to go when shopping for a special occasion dress! Our salesperson, Camila, spent so much time with my daughter, helping her to find the perfect dress for her last HOCO. My daughter wanted a fitted bodice with an A-line skirt. Camila showed her so many dresses and helped her try them on. My daughter fell in love with a beautiful silver dress and Camila found her beautiful shoes to match. Camila and her seamstress made adjustments to the dress and we were able to pick it up about 24 hours later. My daughter was not with me when I picked it up becasue she had to go to work.

Stupid me didn't have my daughter try the dress on again until the night before the dance. The zipper would not go all the way up and my daughter was in tears. We took the dress back to Glamour Couture to see if anything could be done. I was totally expecting them to tell me to go kick rocks. But they did not!! Four women surrounded my daughter to see what could be done to make the dress fit correctly. Diana, Angelica, and Elba could not have been more understanding or helpful! Elba redid the back of the dress and created some sort of magic with the zipper. Two hours later the dress fit perfectly!! My daughter went in crying thinking nothing could be done and I left with happy tears and a happy daughter!!

I felt overwhelmed trying to find my daughters a prom dress. As I walked through the mall, I had no clue which store to visit. I was also worried about finding a dress for my plus-size daughter. When I entered the first store, it was disorganized and there was no help available. I was concerned that my daughter wouldn't be able to find a dress in her size. After searching on my own, I found one dress, but it didn't fit her. There was no one to ask for another size, and I felt defeated, so I decided to leave, feeling sad for my daughter and anxious. I then went up to the next floor and found Glamour Couture. The store was the most organized and clean that I had ever seen, even though it looked like they were about to close. Despite feeling defeated and thinking I would have the same experience as before, I went to the counter and asked for a dress in my daughter's size. I was surprised when Camila came to assist me. She immediately got to work, showing us different styles and sizes of dresses. My daughter instantly fell in love with the first dress she saw. Camila made me feel comfortable and at ease, and she made my daughter feel comfortable. We ended up leaving with a dress, shoes, and accessories at a very reasonable price.
