My husband and I walked into this store with our small Maltipoo on a leash. We had stepped no more than about 4 steps in, when from out of nowhere 2 large dogs off leash rushed toward our dog with one of them jumping on top of her and biting her on the back of the neck while our dog screamed in fright! I pulled her up into my arms to disengage the Husky who had bitten her. At the time we hadn't been sure she had been bitten so we sat outside on a chair the store had out there to try and see beneath all the fur if there was a bite. The store owner, Lisa Gotts, actually also saw what had happened and yelled out a half hearted "sorry" along with saying "I'm sure your dog didnt get bitten" before we had gone outside to check for a bite wound. As we were shaking and trying to see the neck of our still whimpering dog, Lisa came out and asked us to move from the chair! There was no remorse, or concern about our dog, just concern about her chair! We ended up leaving and did discover the next morning when we felt the scab that our dog had been bitten! We rushed her to a veterinarian who proceeded to remove the scab and irrigated the large wound, and gave her pain meds and antibiotics. We had strict instructions to put heat compresses on it and to push on her skin either side of the deep wound several times a day to help it drain so it wouldn't get infected. It was explained to us that because of the large teeth of the Husky her wound was very deep and we had to keep with all the treatment for a minimum of 10 days. I called the Lisa the morning following the biting to tell her what the vet has said. Shockingly Lisa said to me that it was stupid what the veterinarian had done with my dog and that all that should be done is just have kept the scab on and let it heal. There again was not a moment of concern for our dog or remorse that this had happened. I told her the bill at this point was $200 and she said she would not reimburse us for the vet bill. I ended up reporting it to Animal Control for Truckee who went out to see the store owner, Lisa Gotts, and was able to report back to us that her dog was up on his vaccines. The animal control person was very caring with us over this incident. She was actually appalled at the way we were treated by Lisa Gotts and apologized to us for Lisa's behavior as a business owner in Truckee. We wrote a letter to Lisa after our dog was fully healed asking again for the $200, but she never responded. I wanted to share this to save another unsuspecting person with a small dog from entering her store and getting...

Lisa, the owner, went above and beyond working with us and the supplier to help us get a new chair (complicated by the face we live in Southern California). She really impressed me (oh, and the store is...
