I do not understand why parking tickets are $125 when its $10-$40 in other places. That is outright extortion. No traffic was blocked or impeded in any capacity nor anyone's life put in danger. The citation was given for "safety" which is just a plain lie. It is now unsafer for me to park according to the standard of this law and others. A warning would have been sufficient especially since I was parked at my house. I've seen even police officers break this law and most people do because this law is not based on good principles and ideas but simple OCD micromanagement and theft. Laws are meant to be black and white not grey. Just a mafia operating as government and if you do not pay it is backed by threat of force. Having the job of handing out parking ticket citations must be soul crushing and unfulfilling. Supposedly the police is meant to "serve and protect". This citation does not follow that motto in any capacity for the average person. It serves government extortion and protects its interests not the people. Lower the cost of parking tickets. It is absurd and then most of the money is wasted by the government inefficiency. If government was a business it would have failed many times which is why I no longer work in the government and it is the only entity that always gets in the way unlike normal good businesses which serve the interests and safety of its people. I regret serving this country for stupid laws like this. I don't mind taking responsibility if I am in the truly in the wrong but some times you have to call bs. Just because something is law does not make it right. If someone is charged so much let 80% of the citation go to a charity that can help others not some soulless entity.... then at least I can say I donated to a good cause. I've experienced more freedom and common sense in other countries than here which is sad and another reason I will be moving. Tucson is great but some laws are silly....

I don't remember his name, but basically, I was there on a summons to appear because a local Arab hookah bar was raided one night and I was ticketed for disturbing the peace and unlawful right to assemble, or something close to that. Long story short, the hookah bar was allowing people to come in and buy drinks, smoke hookah, and all that, but they had already been cited by the local Tucson Police to dismember and for the owners to close this location because of some city code violations. It was their 3rd time, and there was a red sticker on the door of the hookah bar. But I didn't see it because the bouncers were standing in front of the violation sign when I walked in. On the day of my hearing, the judge was one of the nicest Honors you could want. Sure, going to court is not fun, and I'm not sure if anyone particularly "likes" it, but if you don't like, go and change it. Stop running your mouth about how your city is horrible and never vote, or step up to make a difference. I'm new to Tucson, but from what I can tell, these folks are doing a fine job in keeping the peace, and processing cases. In addition to the awesome judge, I loved the ticket system they had on the first floor. I come from a state where you had to wait all day in circuit court just to enter your plea for a moving violation....
Read moreJust went into the city of tucson court. IL trying to take carry of a ticket. I am told to go home print out a 39 month record for my title and registration on my vehicle. I then return with proof of my insurance policy which is in my husband's name and my registration record for 39 months. I then return and am told "sorry you were misinformed but I can't use this. I need a policy that has your name on it. Even though the state of arizona requires the car be insured and it says nothing about the individual. Mind you my vehicle has never had its registration revoked for not being registered or insured. It was a waste of my time today. Your always getting people with different opinions of what is what. One person says to do this and come back. The next one tells you sorry you were misinformed. When I asked to see the judge. I was told my ticket was too old and I couldn't but the DPS officer told me to request one cause he knows the clerks give false misleading information and at times can be rude. Well I was denied...
