Buck Wild Hummer Tours — Attraction in Tusayan

On May 26th we took the Signature tour with Buck Wild Grand Canyon Hummer tours. Our tour guide and hummer driver was Gigi! She was absolutely amazing and made this trip one we will remember for the rest of our lives. A few years ago when visiting the area, we did a river tour with another company and had Gigi as our tour guide then! She had moved on to doing the Hummer tours now and we were so surprised to see her and thrilled to have her once again as our tour guide - as she jokingly called us “her repeat offenders”! She greeted us in the lobby of the hotel and made sure that we were all safe and comfortable before taking off. Gigi took us to different viewing spots along the Grand Canyon and made sure to explain the history while also making sure we had time to take such amazing photos. She really knew the best spots and we got photos we never would have gotten without her help and guidance! She got us out of our comfort zone to take a few of the photos that we never would have taken on our own as she made you feel so comfortable. You knew you could trust her guidance and expertise. This tour was one of the best parts of our vacation and something that we highly recommend to get the most out of exploring the Grand Canyon! She made it so enjoyable and easy with even picking us up right at our hotel lobby. We seriously cannot recommend Gigi enough and hope to be another repeat offender of hers again...

This tour was bundled as part of a Papillon Air/Hummer/Helicopter tour that I purchased from Papillon which departed from the Las Vegas strip. I'd really like to give it 4.5 stars, but that's not an option, so 4 stars it is. Honestly the tour itselvf was great. It was my first trip to the Grand Canyon and our tour guide Trey made it a memorable one. Trey knows the area very well and provided great insight into the things we saw along the way, as well as the stories that go along with the 4 photo op stops that we made on the tour, each giving us a unique view of various parts of the canyon. The only reason I deducted a (half)point was that it would have been nice to make a stop at the Visitor Center in the Grand Canyon National Park. Trey did mention that it's a busy place and of course it contains a gift shop. A stop here, even for half an hour would have made this a perfect tour for me.

As the package I purchased included a helicopter tour of the South & North Rim, I was taken direclty back to the airport after leaving GCNP, whereas the rest of the group was taken to Buck Wild's office in Tusayan where they have their own gift shop as well as a Native American trading post which would have been nice to see. My 78 year old mother wanted to see the Grand Canyon, a bucket list item of sorts. The challenge lies in her health and mobility issues. None of the standard ways around the park seemed like they would work as she cannot walk the trails. Then we met Christine at Buck Wild Hummer Tours who went out of her way to show us the vehicle they use and the equipment they had to climb aboard. Mom decided she wanted to try taking their tour. The manager Stoney scheduled an 0830 appointment, at our request, for the next morning. With assistance from our driver, Jerry, Mom was able to climb aboard and get a closer look at the canyon than had we driven ourselves or taken the park shuttle buses. Jerry was a great driver, taking us to spots Mom would be able to view and sharing Canyon lore and native history. He made sure my niece and I had time to take pictures and answered all sorts of questions. The seats were comfortable and equipped with safety belts. All of us enjoyed ourselves immensely and everywhere we stopped people wanted to have their picture taken with the Hummer. I cannot recommend this company highly enough.
