An Good Dining Option Near the Grand Canyon
During our trip to the Grand Canyon, we discovered a restaurant in Tusayan that became a good dining spot.
While the culinary offerings in the area aren't extensive, We Cook Pizza and Pasta stands out as a delicious and convenient alternative.
• What We Loved
The restaurant is easy to access and has a spacious parking lot, which is very helpful in a tourist area.
The dining spaces are comfortable and designed to accommodate many people, with various seating options to choose from.
The food is the highlight. As the name suggests, they specialize in pizzas and pastas, but they also offer sandwiches and salads.
We tried the pizzas on two different occasions and liked them; their homemade flavor makes them unique. We also enjoyed a pasta and some ravioli, which were very tasty.
Despite the fact that on one of our visits the place was very busy, the service was fast, with our dishes ready in just 10 to 15 minutes.
Additionally, the restrooms were always clean and well-maintained, a detail that is always appreciated.
• Standard Service, but a Good Experience
While the service is quite standard—nothing that stands out as exceptional—the quality and efficiency of the food more than make up for it.
In summary, if you're looking for a place to enjoy a delicious and comforting meal near the Grand Canyon, we recommend We Cook Pizza and Pasta. It's an ideal option to recharge your energy after a long day...
Read moreThis pizza shop is located close to the south entrance to Grand Canyon National Park and maybe that is why their prices are so ridiculous, especially for the quality of their food product. Unfortunately, there are very few dining options here if you are staying for a few nights, and the businesses know this. There is a large parking lot in the complex so parking should not be an issue most of the time, but it is a shared parking lot. The pizza shop has plenty of tables inside, but again, depending on what time you arrive it might not always be that way, especially during the busy months of the year. The menu is varied, so you have other options other than pizza, like pasta, chicken wings, etc. The staff members were not hostile or rude, but neither were they very welcoming, just tell me what you want and pay. Now, what about the pizza, while they are not terrible, they sure could use more sauce and ingredients of their pizza pies, especially at the prices they charge. That brings me to the bottom line, their pizzas are what I would label as your average Papa John’s pizza quality but at Michelin Star restaurant prices. When you look at my photos, you will see what we purchased and all for the low price of $145.00, which is absolutely, positively, ridiculous. So, beware when you enter that this is tourist orientated business, and bring your credit card to boot. FYI, there other menu options are much more reasonable than their...
Read moreI get it. There's not many options in town for different types of food. I also get that it's a touristy area, so the prices are freaking astronomical.... But honestly, I think there would have been more business here if the prices were lower.
Walk-in, order at counter, find a seat, get paged, go pick up food at counter.
My dad ordered the Fettuccini Alfredo, for $15! 😲 Like there was nothing but noodles and sauce. I'm from the Chicagoland area and a $15 Fettuccini Alfredo will at least have either chicken or shrimp in it... And it wouldn't be clumpy.
I ordered the ravioli.... But they were out. Like it wasn't even 6:00pm and the restaurant was not busy at all, so I'm not sure how one can be out. 🤷♀️
Nothing else really sounded up to par, but I got the Margherita pizza. It wasn't ready when my family's food was, so I had to wait a bit longer.. it was a decent pizza, but nothing to go ga-ga over.
My children split a pizza, 1/2 pepperoni, 1/2 mushroom. The pepperoni pizza was extremely greasy. I had to use my napkins to sop up the grease and then go get more napkins to sop up more grease.
We tried this place out because we already enjoyed a nice steak dinner the night before at another restaurant in town. The other options were the fast food joints (McDonald's, Wendy's, Pizza Hut)...
Oh and the women's bathroom was...
