I’ll say this, it’s very bad form to talk so much ish about customers even over a misunderstanding or issue with a coupon in front of other customers. I popped in early this evening to look for a nativity scene and was so turned off by the older (yea I know, much older woman gasp) employees constantly shit talking this customer. I get it, I work for a restoration company myself and deal with the most UNBEARABLE customers. Never do I let it deter me from doing my job or in front of other customers talk so much shit about the other. It’s bad form and very unprofessional. They even had the back room door wide open so not only did the 3 woman at the front kept going on and on about the situation the whole time I was there…but the other 2 ladies behind the open doors kept going on. Didn’t want to buy the nativity set there because of that reason alone and walked out with my girlfriend whom I was shopping with. There’s a difference between being disrespected by a customer and standing your professional/professional ground. It’s another to be gossip queens over, and over…and over again. If you have to talk shit, do it out of the other customers ears when your counting the money like everyone else at the end of the night. I have empathy but not spending my money somewhere that’s...
Read moreI called to get a name of a manager whose name escaped me for a work reference. The woman who answered my call said hello, as I asked if this was Hallmark. She then hung up on me, I called back and double checked number with the same, " hello" from her. I asked if this was Hallmark, she rudely said yes and again hung up on me. I called back and asked to please speak with the store Manager, she rudely said she was the Store Manager. I asked for her name, she again with attitude said she didn't have to give me her name. I told her I don't know why your being so unprofessional, as I was confused why she didn't answer the call with the store greeting. I told her all I wanted was the name of a previous Manager I had worked for, for a work reference. She with attitude gave me the name as well as hers, then hung up on me for the 3rd time. In all my years in retail, I have never been greeted with the unproffessionalism as I had with her. Honestly I was shocked she was a store Manager who disrespected her store, as well as myself. I do hope this will be addressed and her basic customer service skills are revisited by a...
Read moreI made an online purchase of a Christmas ornament. I came in the store and picked up the item and left. Today I was told that they don’t accept ornaments for return after Christmas. They said that there were signs all over the store but I was never told that when I picked up the online order and nowhere on the website does it say that policy. Nowhere on my online receipt does it say that policy. The cashier and the manager said that it was the policy but couldn’t explain why it would make sense to not accept returns. I purchased other items in the transaction and was only returning this item and I am a regular customer. When I called the Hallmark customer service 800 number, they explained that this was an INDIVIDUAL STORE POLICY and agreed that it didn’t make much sense to not issue a return and issued me a return from their end. This is just a way for Norman’s Hallmark to take your money. It’s a bad business practice towards a consumer who supports locally owned businesses...
