Let me start with I NEVER write reviews. I’m a busy woman(just like everyone else) and I choose my battles, But management needs to be aware. I wanted to like this place so bad but it wasn’t good at all.. my friend and I got back from a hike so we’re wearing sportswear. Tried to get a table. Gentlemen at the door kept suggesting the bar.. we didn’t want the bar. Even sat at the bar for him just to ask to get a table instead. Got the table. Our waitress has no knowledge on wine. I asked her a simple preference of which one she prefers between two and she said “I don’t drink wine but I can ask the bartender “ as I’m ordering a $67 bottle of wine. It would’ve looked better if she made something up instead of not having a clue about wine she’s selling. Also doesn’t know bottle service.. brings the wine and pours about 10oz in each glass and then proceeds to ask if we’re ready to order. We haven’t even gotten our appetizers yet and she’s pouring me a literal full 10oz glass of wine to start… no I’m not ready. You’re supposed to pour 3 oz so the rest to remain chilled in the bottle. Not kidding when she poured essentially the whole bottle in both glasses and said “oops”. I also paid $40 for the skimpiest charcuterie ever. Which I pulled out 2 plastic pieces from the outside wrap of salami.. IM NOT KIDDING. I WANTED TO GAG. I also had to convince myself the hair we found in the bruschetta was mine. I seriously thought it was mine falling out then from stress, I’m not kidding. It was terrible. I ended the dinner then and paid $117 for terrible wine service and terrible service, terrible apps. I still tipped her 20 percent bc she really just seemed like there was nothing up there. Place has potential, but I def won’t be back. I also didn’t complain once to the server or management bc it was seriously one thing after the other… it ruined our dinner. We even took a 45 minute drive to try it out. The night could’ve been saved had our waitress had any interest in her guest but it’s mind boggling the way she interacted with someone trying to spend $100’s at her table. I called Cru next door and made a reservation at the table, I couldn’t imagine spending more money here. I’m giving it 2 stars bc whether they were trying to rush us out or not, the apps were fast. That’s it. Saddened bc I work at the top steak house in Atlanta, we’re always looking for great places...
Read moreI debated for a while of whether or not to post my concerns. I thought my evening was going to very enjoyable and quickly took a turn for the worst once food was delivered. First thing I saw was no one greeted us. Then when we asked about seating we were told that a server must come and get you to sit. After about 5 to 10 minutes a space opened up at the bar for me and a friend. We were greeted and the area was wiped down. The Hispanic young lady bartender was amazing and gave great service. However her teammate a young lady of Paris descent didn't farewell with a compliment that was given and turned the experience south for us. It became a battle of how to correctly take with people, service, and definitely was given an inviting environment. She became very frustrated with a few parties at the bar even some young gentleman that ended sitting at the bar to. The resturant was packed due to World Series. However even management was rude and unkind to us. I thought Nick would have been a little nicer asking patrons in the resturant to move or allow for other people to sit at a table. Especially seeing as no one was in the way. He then backed up his bartenders rude attitude. I then began to see a trend of the profiling going on. The same bartender who had an attitude then took the conversation to other Caucasian people and tried to make a scene about the compliment she was given on her accent. I thought this experience was a once in a lifetime. Decided to try on another day without World Series being their and service was still unpleasant. I'm sure once a little leadership and culture sensitivity are put I place it may succeed. However in today's culture I would take heed to never knowing who someone is and that all people should be created equal and fairly. Wanted to enjoy this place so much seeing has how I love Italian food, food was amazing. The service and overall experience left a unsettling feeling. It's ashamed due to the authenticity of resturant with great food, wine,...
Read moreLet's start with the great: Awesome location, and beautiful restaurant. The food was phenomenal. We had the Bruschetta and Calamari as apps. As entrees, we ordered Caesar salad with crab cakes, eggplant Parm, Cheesesteak calzone and the gluten-free penne with Bolognese. As dessert we had tiramisu. All of it was delicious, well presented, and appropriate temperature. Portions were generous. The good: Drinks were refreshing, and nicely presented. Not strong, but ok! Now into the ugly: Service. The servers need training on timing. Need training on the appropriate flow of the meal, when to retrieve plates and when to leave the patrons have the conversations they want to have without interruption. When we got there, and for most of our meal, the restaurant was empty. Us and another 2 tables. About 3 additional patrons at the bar in the patio. The server and the bus-lady kept interrupting the conversation to ask if we were finished and trying to retrieve the plates (with food still on it), or asking if we needed boxes... At one point, the bus-lady was literally standing behind my husband's chair, waiting for him to finish, so she can take his plate!! My husband actually asked if she needed anything, and she said," I am waiting for you to finish so I can take the plate". As they were clearing the table, the server got us the check. I told him we were not ready for the check yet as we wanted to order dessert. He seemed surprised, but immediately said he would bring us the dessert menu. We were 4 ppl and spent $300 on this lunch. An automatic 20% was added for gratuity. I have never seen this in tables of less than 6 guests. I don't know if I will be back. I rather spend my $$ on places that serve me well. Other restaurants have great food AND great service at...
