My girl and I decided to make Burn apart of our NYE experience. We went to this establishment and I wish the service was as nice as the ambience. I will say we arrived on the late side and about 20 mins before closing a server yelled at the top of her lungs LAST CALL like she was in a dive bar. At this time I was finishing a drink and my girl friend had 2 drinks and a cigar she was working on. 15 mins before closing they turned all the lights on. 3 mins after that the bouncer came over and said here are some to go cups we close at 2 am. I was constantly aware of the time while this was all going on as to not go over the closing time. Next that same bouncer came over at about 1:54 and said we needed to be out at 2am. I told him don't worry we will be out and I set an alarm on my phone at that time, in front of him. 2 more minutes later another bouncer walks over and says we need to leave before 2 and it was at this point I began to get annoyed. I was talking to the bouncer and attempting to explain that we would be out by that time. When the server on the other side of us says "yeah everyone has to be out the bar by 2 am" I turned around to her and say we are aware. She then says "well I don't know what you want to be here for anyways no one is here." And her attitude was very rude. My friend was still finishing a drink and we had all intentions to move out of the space before closing time. Had she not had a drink that she patronize the business with, I/we would of been gone. We left right after that and they had more attitude things to say. I will never ever step foot in this spot again. It also felt very racial since we were black women and the 2 women speaking to us were not and were the main aggressors. When the server girl was rude to me I told her she could get back to work because we were not in her way and were already talking to one member of the staff. The other bouncers than came to her aid as if she needed saving when there was no way I was threatening her. Which added to the racial profiling aspect of things. All that being said, I've been to several cigar bars in town and I would recommend any of them over this over rated tackless...
Read moreIf you’re looking for a grown and sexy place, this is it! I had a challenge to find a cigar bar that allow for large parties (we had 10), had a lounge vibe and had good food. This hit all the marks.
Let’s start with the con(s): The only issue I had with the lounge itself was their reservation system. You have to go online and someone is supposed to call you back to confirm. I had to call three times to make sure we were locked in. Once I spoke to the manager (Marvin, I believe), who was very nice, he confirmed me and my group.
The second con I have, not lounge related, was the parking. We happened to go while Lady Gaga had a concert at Truist Park and whew! We parked off-site and did a share-ride over because there was no way we would’ve found parking during the time we went.
Now to the pros: The ambience was so nice. Decor was amazing. The bathroom is a girl’s selfie dream. We were seated in a private bench section that gave such an intimate vibe.
Our server Jaz! Let me tell you, this girl was/is amazing! She gave awesome costumer service. She was super attentive, nice, and accommodating. You could tell she wanted to be there and I appreciate her so much. Your server can make or break your night sometimes, but she made it a memorable night. Give. This. Girl. A. Raise!!
Even we she was triple sat (meaning she had been given two more tables in addition to ours) and was hustling, she still came over and checked on us frequently.
The gentleman in the humidor was helpful, knowledgeable and attentive. My husband and his friends went to grab cigars and truly loved his suggestions. He even stopped by the table to check on the guys. Amazing customer service!
Overall, I give Burn by Rocky Patel a five star review. My suggestions are having a better system for reservations and if there’s an event, work out the parking early before...
Read moreGreat atmosphere and location. Good food and drinks. Disorganized service and conflicting information. I saw on their IG page that they have live jazz every Thursday, so I decided to make this my Thursday night visit. I found it unusual that they don't post a start time for the live music as the other cigar lounges I follow on IG do. I call Thursday at 3pm to get a music start time and was told "around 8". I got there early at 6 to chill and eat. I asked my server, Keisha G., where the band sets up at so I can have a good view and she pointed out their setup location and told me the band starts at 7. Hey, even better! I ate and watched the Milwaukee/Boston game...still no band. The band arrived and started unloading and setting up at 8:21pm. The band didn't start playing until 9:04pm and my 4 hours of paid parking ends at 9:49pm. So I paid my check @ 9:14pm and was gonna listen until 9:40 and leave. At between 9:20 and 9:25, server Keasha G. came to me and told me that my 2-seat table was reserved at 9:30 and asked if I was close to being done. I didn't believe her when she told me my table was reserved, nor that they offer reservations, but because I was alone at the table and didn't have long to stay, I left. I stopped and asked the lady that seated me what time the live music usually starts every Thursday and she told me 9pm. I smiled and held up 3 fingers to her and told that time was the third different time I've heard from the staff all day, and I walked out. I understand why they don't post a starting time for live music. They aren't organized to know the starting time. Keasha G. was a great and attentive server, despite false info and essentially being asked to give up my table. I think she was requested to ask me to leave, but it did happen after I paid and it was crowded at that...
