I took my 10 year old daughter to get her nails done for her Elementary School graduation, and we were met with unpleasant and unwelcoming customer service when we arrived. I couldnât help but to think that this was due to our race as we were the only African American customers there. This experience only got worse when Valerie approached us to do my daughterâs nails as she lead by telling us that she didnât have time to do a French manicure because she had to pick her son up. While trying to figure out an alternative, my daughter asked Valerie to do a white heart on 2 nails. Valerie agreed in the moment, but later told my 10 year old âthis is why I shouldnât have done your nail artâ when my daughter asked her to fix one of the hearts. Upon check out, my daughter noticed that Valerie had not applied oil to her hands after sharing that the appointment was complete so she asked for oil, since she noticed that another client received oil. Valerie responded to my daughterâs request by saying âwell if you didnât walk away, then I could have given you oilâ. When I addressed this comment with Valerie and asked if she was snarky with my 10 year old, she told me that she wasnât snarky, but that she did in fact say the comment (that was snarky). Valerie then went on to justify her behavior by saying that my 10 year old was unhappy during the entire appointment due to her not receiving a French manicure. Valerie never acknowledged her inappropriate behavior/commentary with my daughter, nor did she apologize. She ultimately advised me to call headquarters in a nonchalant tone.    Read moreWas charged for my monthly membership and received an email that I still had 2 free manicures, was NEVER told that these "expired" once I cancelled. I went online and booked an appointment here. During the online scheduling process, it said that I would be charged $0 for the manicure. When checking out, I told the associate, Valerie, that I should have a free manicure on there. She told me that I did and that my total came to $0 and that I would only have to pay for gratuity. I then receive an email that I was charged for the full manicure after being told TWICE that it was free due to me paying for my membership. I then reached out to The W customer service and they are denying me a refund for a service that I was told would be free and that the membership I paid over $120 should have covered. I have messaged the location and have even called to try to speak to the manager, Olivia, and have not heard back. It seems as though this company has a real issue with communicating clearly which is an issue I have and why I will no longer be using them. This is also what has made me cancel my membership in the first place. I spend too much money each month on a membership to continuously receive subpar manicures and terrible customer service. I will be taking my business elsewhere.
EDIT: to anyone reading this review. This was NOT communicated clearly. I have also asked to speak with the manager regarding this and she has failed to return my phone call. This salon might put on a good look on the outside but definitely are partaking in some shady business practices.    Read moreIâm very disappointed in my experience here. I was so excited to treat myself and get a gel nail manicure before I went to a wedding but unfortunately they didnât even last 2 days. As nice as she was, my tech, Robin didnât do a great job. She applied the polish too far from my cuticles which made them look like it had been growing out for weeks and the gel was so thin that it chipped in the first 2 days, when itâs supposed to last a week or two. The gel removal wasnât much better, I waited 25 minutes for an appointment that I had scheduled in advance. They should book appointments further apart if they arenât able to complete them in the set amount of time. My removal service seemed very rushed at the end and she didnât even bother to buff my nails after she had removed the polish, leaving me with extremely rough nails that I had to buff myself when I got home.
