My friend and I stopped in this Harvest Pizza last evening for a drink and a bite to eat at the bar. We were very disappointed by the experience. The young gal working the bar was so unexperienced and lacked good customer service skills. I ordered a glass of wine and my friend ordered one of the featured cocktails off of the drink menu but asked if she could substitute vodka for the tequila. After waiting for her to go find out if she could substitute the alcohol, she came back and say no because that particular drink is premade earlier in the day. My friend really wanted a freshly made cocktail so she asked about another option on the menu and the gal told her that one does get made from scratch. So she pours my wine and sets it down in front of me. Then she proceeds to go wait on someone else rather than make my friend's drink. She comes back and pulls out a binder to look up the drink recipe for friend's drink. That was kind of a red flag there, knowing that a bartender doesn't know who to make a featured drink which she told us was one of their more popular ones. So bartender pours a shot of liquor in the cocktail shaker, then she walks away and goes down to the other end of the bar to wait on another customer. She comes back looks at the recipe book and then puts something else in the shaker. Again she takes someone else's order and starts making another specialty drink right next to the one she hasn't finished for my friend. This goes on for almost 20 minutes and still no drink for my friend while I'm waiting there with my glass of wine. I suggested to my friend that we leave but she decided to go find a manager. Finds the manager who was another young gal and she said that she could make a drink in a rather bother tone. There were no apologies that they were sorry for taking so long. It was ridiculous so we left! I hadn't touched my drink so I didn't feel the need to pay. I love Harvest in Clintonville and have never had a problem. This location looked like it was being run by a bunch of high school kids. No professionalism or customer service at all! We went down the street to The Pearl (a Cameron Mitchell restaurant) where I know the staff are required to take bartending school and also ongoing customer service training. Will not go back to that...
Read moreWe are visiting from Florida and we were taken here by our daughter and her fiancé on Thurs 4April. None of us had ever visited here before, nor will we ever return.
First off, the pizzas were the best part of what we ordered, and we have no qualms in that regard, however we started the meal with the hummus crudite plate. Crudite is defined as RAW vegetables and it included hummus. Thr plate arrived and had red peppers, flat bread, cucumbers that were well past being fresh (slimy and mushy) and four COOKED carrots (YES, THEY WERE COOKED!). Definitely not good and definitely NOT a crudite plate.
We had four in our dinner party and they ordered a margherita pizza as well as a bacon and pepperoni. I am not a huge pizza lover and so I ordered the smaller MEAN GREEN SALAD with green goddess dressing. It arrived to our table and looked lovely but that's as far as it went! The flavor in the dressing was disgusting, and my husband compared it to a Christmassy Yankee Candle. I took one bite and was totally put off by the dressing. We asked our server, Christian, who said its popular but he wasnt sure as to why. He brought me out a new chopped salad but not before we found a bug (a yellowish looking lady bug) crawling in the Mean Green salad. My daughters fiance nearly got sick, having taken a bite to see what the fuss was about. We called Christian over who just laughed and said "Well, at least you know it's organic" & took that plate after seeing our crawling.dinner companion, but I couldn't eat my new salad following the insect incident. (Note: I should say, the bug was released into the plants inside the restaurant as per Christian)
For what we paid for our meal, insect included, I don't recommend. Despite not eating the salad/s, we were charged. Just not a...
Read moreIt's literally my favorite pizza in town. I always get the spicy yuma with vegan chorizo and I run into this constant issue shown on the picture. Where is my main topping??! The pizza itself is already $20 so quite overpriced for a personal sized pizza and when you want to sub for vegan chorizo it's an extra $2.50. So I feel like for the price I'm paying the least I could get in return is a reasonable amount of topping. The pizza was otherwise delicious.
I do agree with some other reviewers that service takes a pretty long time when you dine in and also has a lot of space for improvement. Once my friend and I ate here when the place wasn't as busy. My friend gulped down her pizza within about 10 minutes while I was working on my 2nd slice. The waitress came to our table no less than 3 times to ask me if I needed a box (and I repeatedly told her that I'm planning on finishing it. Not to mention that we just got the pizza not that long ago.) and all this time she not once asked my friend if she needed more water (her glass had been empty since the pizza came out).
I also had their kale ceasar once and I must say that it just lacks of fantasy. All it is just kale, bread and parmesan cheese with some dressing so not worth the high $.
I do however love their vegan and gluten free options. You can sub to vegan chorizo, vegan cheese and to gluten free crust. Just have a deep pocket because after subbing everything your small pizza will cost you $30. Definitely not a place to go for a family with an average income who has intolerances.
The lack of response from the owner to the critical reviews should also give everyone a pretty good picture on where they stand with customer...
