Nashville Hot Chicken - Chicago — Restaurant in West Chicago Township

I wanted to try NHC for the first time didn’t look at the reviews but I ordered pretty much things our family wanted to try which was the shrimp sando , the waffle sando, and strips the sides we got were mac , crazy fries, and waffle fries to me the food was cold not warm to go. The mac was good but tasted rancid stale and my stomach hurt after the crazy fries as advertised is in a big tray the one I got is a small to go box small like a kids size .. didn’t even have enough fries seriously like a kids portion the waffle or the cold slaw taste freezer burnt like a weird flavor couldn’t explain it my husband said the shrimp was great but wish it was biggger … in all the waffle fries were hard and cold and again small portion compared to what’s being advertised id you see the pictures advertised as a bigger tray you’ll be getting a small white to go box verry upsetting I wanted to give a good star rating and recommend people but I couldn’t the food was cold and hurt my stomach they are lucky I didn’t get food poisoning there’s one guy in kitchen cashier doing all work in front and kitchen and there was a guy walking around on his phone opening up all the food things and doors that’s not right he didn’t have proper gloves or suit to be in kitchen area to be this is a franchise to be closed soon sorry to say this ppl dave hot chicken is better .. their down western...

Surprised to see all of the low ratings on here. We really liked the food! We ordered the Chicken Waffle Sando at a Mild Cyrus spice level, the Chicken Sando at a hot spice level, an order of Waffle Fries, an order of the Mac and Cheese, and an order of the Popcorn Shrimp. My favorite was the Chicken Waffle Sando, it was better than I even expected it to be and they even give you a side of syrup for it that tastes so good when you dip it. I didn’t love the Mac and Cheese, I thought it was just ok but it was actually my husband’s favorite thing we ordered. I thought the popcorn shrimp was great, similar quality and taste to getting popcorn shrimp at Red Lobster and very good dipped in the pink sauce. You could also definitely tell the difference between the mild and hot sauce on the sandwiches, the hot was nice and spicy! We had it delivered and it was very fast delivery service! The good: the place had juicy chicken, and the flavor was good. So far, the best Sando I’ve had in Chicago(better than Fry the Coop). There were little vibes here and there that reminded me of a true hot chicken place.

The bad: you know man, that just wasn’t Nashville hot chicken. That chicken was definitely inspired and processed through the LA lens, but naw, that wasn’t it. Heat level is super important because it’s the basic premise of the food to begin with, even if the heat is ridiculously spicy. The Hail Mary just wasn’t that spicy: it really left much to be desired. You know, create a super duper level or something, because even upon arrival I could tell it wouldn’t be spicy.
