Golden Nugget Pancake House — Restaurant in West Chicago Township

For an extremely long time this location was on my radar for at least one visit.I finally went there recently.In a late afternoon hour between 3:30 pm and 4:30 pm (I left as fast as could before 4:30 pm) I ordered their original buttermilk pancakes.This very Iffy female waitress was trying to get me to order stuff I didn't want after she clearly heard me say I wanted their Buttermilk Pancakes only.I wanted to see if the nearby flat screen television was working and another Iffy female employee turned it on for me.I asked for her to turn it to the "Fox News Channel",but extremely suspiciously she literally acted like that channel was not on their Cable or Satellite package deal for a very lengthy amount of my precious time.I clearly saw that their Cable or Satellite package had CNN & MSNBC on it,but she still acted dumb as if she really didn't know which channel was the Fox News Channel.After at least 15 to 20 minutes she finally found the Fox News Channel after I told her it was the channel that said FNC.Anyway,after another almost 25 minutes after I ordered 3 Buttermilk Pancakes in a totally empty restaurant (a lady that looks like the majority of employees there came in the door before me),my Pancakes finally showed up.By the time my Pancakes showed up,the Lady customer that came in the door right in front of me got a second or third plate of freshly hot waffles.My Pancakes were NOT served freshly hot to me on purpose.Plus,the top Pancake looked like it was dropped on the floor on purpose and the cooks put it at the top of the 3 stack thinking I wouldn't notice the mysteriously black spots on my top Pancake only.I got up and was about to go out the door immediately when the Iffy waitress tried to get me to pay for Dirty Pancakes on what clearly looked like a Dirty plate too filled with tons of deep seated black spots or blemishes on it.She told this other Iffy female (she might be the owner that turned on the tv) that I was not going to pay for being disrespected.I told her what I saw and she didn't even give me a faux apology,forget about a real apology.She said leave and she didn't have to tell me twice.This location needs to fold up infinitely asap.I think I now know why this location is extremely empty.Folding Up infinitely is the only way the owner of this location can make things right as far as I am concerned.This is literally the worst location I have ever been to.It does NOT take 20 Minutes or more to make 3 freshly hot Buttermilk Pancakes at all,period.Customer Service is Abysmal to...

100/10! ⭐ The food is so good! I've only ordered on DoorDash but it hits every time! Today I got the Chicken Crusted Parmesan and I need to talk to the chef AND the owner because it brought me to tears. I have never tasted chicken so amazing in my life. I'm annoyingly picky about meat, but this was so flaky, juicy, and mouth watering. Give the chef a raise! 🙌 Please don't ever take this off the menu.

Other entrees I've tried (because I'm obsessed with this place): Their skillets are good but they seem to be light on the eggs, even when I order an extra egg. It still lasts me 4 meals and I just add my own egg to each portion. I'd recommend the omelette over the skillet because you get waaaay more eggs and if you opt for hash browns or potatoes, it's essentially the same thing as the skillet but with more eggs and protein goodness. Their spaghetti and meatballs are definitely a home made and magical experience. It isn't loaded with tomato sauce and instead a simple, delicious recipe that isn't over done. Their cinnamon swirl pancakes are divine! They're definitely more of a dessert item but SO good. I've never had anything like it before.

Their homemade soup is also so good! I highly recommend this as a side.

This wasn’t our first time here and we’ve loved going to other locations. This time the food tasted real chemical like and I had to go throw up my food. My husband food didn’t taste right either but he powered through and finished. Up until this point our waitress was good even though she didn’t come back to check on us after we got our food. So when she came back finally and asked if we needed boxes I said no and told her about the eggs and the food and how I threw up and she just said ok. When she came back with the check I told her I would pay for my hubbys and half of mine. She immediately got an attitude and told me I should have said something or came and find her. I don’t feel it’s my job to get out my sit to look for my waitress. That bad customer service. When I ask could I speak with someone who could make this decision, she the manager was not there and told me I needed to speak with the kitchen. Again she started getting snappy and I just said Nevermind. When we got to the counter to pay the other workers were laughing and looking at us. Very uncomfortable and unpleasant experience. They did take 12.99 off but this experience will the reason I won’t be back or go...
