Hi, as an artist and a teacher, I dislike the service that my friends and I have received while we were painting here. As soon as we walked in the lady was catching attitude with us. When we walked in I let her know we were a part of the party and she said “Yeah we know you’re the 7 group since we’re not normally open this late." She said it in a mean way, and like I’m sorry. You agreed to have a private group paint this time. My friends decided to paint the painting they provided but I asked if I could paint something else. I looked at their wall and wasn’t feeling anything so I asked If I could paint on a bare canvas and they acted like I just stabbed their painting. Like I understand that maybe It was rude not to take a sketch painting but like I have done painting with a twist and other group painting and they never had a problem with someone taking the canvas and doing their own thing. It’s art, let’s be creative here. I typically go to events where there is a teacher in front of the class but this one is where people could get a sketch and do their own thing but he was acting like a dictator. He was correct in giving tips but then he started to paint for people. He also tried to give me tips and such and the lady was even like “You painted here before didn’t you “ I was not an artist “ and kind of just laughed at me. Like I know typically artists don’t come to events like this just because we have our supplies at home but I just want to come and support my friends. The teacher also kept taking over other people’s paintings and kept making fun of paintings. Most people that come here are not artists and for not being artists I thought they did great! They are trying something new and they are not going to pull out masterpieces but as long as they are enjoying it then it’s fine. The teacher was very controlling and mean and put people down in how they wanted to paint their paintings. I understand the suggestion but that’s not taking the brush and sitting in their seat and painting the painting for them. Not even well in my opinion. As an artist stay away from them as they DO NOT support creativity and you can do better just by buying your paints, looking at a reference image, and just doing...
Read moreI have to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. I booked two tickets to open paint and knowing it was a long shot, asked if it might be possible to have a Wicked canvas for my six year old daughter who loves art and is absolutely smitten with Wicked. I couldn’t be there with her due to double booked sibling activities with her brother but seeing her come home with that canvas she immediately had me mount on her wall was a feeling of pride I don’t reach often as a parent. Your gesture having put the time in to have that available for her gives me so much joy just imagining how happy she was when you revealed it to her. Thank you for helping us forge new core memories with her and provide another opportunity for her to explore her creative abilities and continue to share her light with the world. She’s an amazing kid and I can only hope she keeps meeting so many amazing people and being shown the kindness she...
