My wife and I went to west Yellowstone and had 2 days guided in the park. Our guide was Dan who was EXCELLANT and very knowledgeable. we then went for a day on our own and had rented the upgraded snow mobiles for both the park and our own. we stopped to use the restroom next to Yellowstone adventures and were not off the skies for more than 10 minutes. We came outside and observed two Ravens tearing a hole in the seats of the snow mobiles. We immediately went into Yellowstone adventures and advised them of what just occurred. We were told that “it happens all the time". We went to turn the snow mobiles in at the end of the day and were informed that even though we hap purchased insurance this was not covered. They said that the ravens may have been looking for food or crumbs on the seat. We had not eaten on the snow mobiles or had any food nor drink on them. Perhaps the last people who rented them had eaten on the skies but not us. We were told that “I do not see any reason for us to lose money" by the service manager. I explained that this was not our fault and if we had been informed about the ravens we would have used the restroom one at a time. We also spoke with Ken who is very helpful but unfortunately he advised that he could not do anything about the charge of $158.00 and the list price would have been $230.00 to fix and felt we had received a break already. I feel that good customer service would have not charged us as we did not damage the skies nor were advised about the ravens in advance. My recommendation would to go elsewhere to rent snow mobiles where they do care about customer service and the importance of word of mouth...
Read moreIf I could give Yellowstone Adventure Rentals a zero star rating I would. We rented a 2 seater razor and drove around the lions head loop. We had intentions to go around the two top loop as well, but our razor had a tie rod break on a trail with a very steep and long drop off, could have easily caused us to fall off the drop off, but luckily we where driving slow and careful the whole time. After the break down we called back up to the rental place for assistance, they then said it would only take them 30 min to reach us but it took over an hour. When they got there they gave us another one to drive back and we made it back. Then we filled the tanks up like we were suppose to and they also made us fill up the rescue razor, which seems a little wrong since we already had over an hour of our rental period wasted and it was all due to normal wear and tear for trails they rent these machines on. Then they went on to charge us $280 for the tie rod which is a $30 part. They said the extra charge was for labor but the guy who fixed the razor and drove it back beat us back when we went the quickest way possible to our knowledge, so you would assume no more than 10-15 min of labor. But that is all besides the fact, we were general and very careful with the machines and were going 5mph when the tie rod broke, we should have never been charged for normal wear and tear and not at such a high price for sure. Our 6 hour ride which we sat waiting for rescue for over an hour nearly cost us $1300. I am thoroughly displeased with Yellowstone Adventure Rentals and caution everyone to stay away, they have no respect for their customers and do not know how...
Read moreThe staff was professional and helpful. The machines were comfortable and worked perfectly. We are a group of older riders and did not push the machines for performance but can see how a younger group of riders could certainly have fun with these Can-Am side by sides. The reason for four stars is that we believe the staff should have known about the trail closures we encountered and informed us so we did not have to spend time backtracking. We later found out from other (local) riders that these closures happened over a week ahead of our visit . The second reason is there was a great deal of time spent on telling us about the "rocky" parts of the trail, the "steep" parts of the trail, etc. but somewhere along the lines you would think that mentioning a "bear attack" just a few days prior in the same area would have been key information to share. We only found this out after reading a sign stapled to a gate post telling us to "AVOID THIS AREA". Pretty relevant information to have prior to sending folks into the forest. To be fair I am sure that situations like this happen often and change rapidly and it would be hard to keep up on the changes but then again if you're doing this as a business then it's part of the job to know the things that can be safety risks and time delays to your customers. Overall positive experience with the...
