Started off bad. We were promptly seated but took forever to get a server. Servers running around but not really organized. People waiting for checks, paying, and food took forever. When the server finally arrived she was very rude. Saying "what do you want" we ordered our drinks and ordered food at the same time since it had been so long. When she brought the drinks she forgot my ice water and I politely said I had an ice water too and her reply was "I only have two hands" . My wife had coffee and after drinking the first cup I placed her cup at the edge of the table and no one ever refilled while I counted 11 passes by our table by servers. I finally stopped one and asked for a refill they brought it but did not say a word even though I said thank you. One note is people that came in way after we did received their food eat it and had left but they were seated at the bar which appeared to be locals and it appears they are served first The saving grace here is that the food was good even though the portions were small. We are here for a week but won't return just due to the rude staff which is unfortunate.
Update -** Bill said $39.42 but when they run my credit card it was for $40.60 why the $1.18 add????? If this is done on every bill that adds up through the day. Seems like a very shady business practice knowing people are not paying attention....
Read moreThis place is would gag a starving racoon. By the look of it, the salad bar was hastily assembled from the remnants of grocery store dumpster. My wife and I both ordered steaks, under the highly faulty assumption that it's nearly impossible to make a bad steak. Mine came out tasting like the accumulated grit, char, and soot of ten thousand poorly cooked meals. It was as if the cook cleaned the grill back in 1992 and decided it was good forever after. Both steaks came with a mysterious side of soup or chili or something which had the the look of something a baby spit up. Oddly enough the only thing that was good were the French fries. Really they were quite excellent. So if you are hungry for a big pile of french fries and nothing else, I can recommend this spot. Otherwise, if you find yourself in West Yellowstone and walk past the the Old Town Cafe and think it looks like a charming local spot, don't be fooled. Run for the love of your wallet and your family's digestive tract. I realize I sound like one of those jerks who can never find something nice in a restaurant, but I'm not. I live by the adage if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all, but this place was so bad I felt I was duty bound to protect the public from the horror that is The...
Read moreCame here on a recommendation from my motel front desk clerk. Walked in and the bartender told us to take any seat. Sat down at a table near the bar. A moment later an employee came over and gave us water. No menus, no how’ya doing, nothing. A couple of minutes later I walked to the front door and grabbed a menu and sat back down. A few minutes later, right before we were going to get up and leave, the bartender came over and took our order. The bartender was awesome and obviously making drinks, but still had to tend to tables. He took our order and the food was out pretty quickly. I ordered a buffalo cheeseburger with bacon and it came with waffle fries. The burger had an interesting taste and was served with romaine lettuce and not iceberg, which I prefer. It wasn’t all that good, I should have stuck with the beef burger. I won’t knock a star because of the taste because that’s the way a buffalo burger tasted. But they lost a star for the interesting start to my meal experience. I understand everyone is short staffed, so I can’t knock them too bad. The bartender shouldn’t be waiting tables but he got the job done. With all the food places in town, I don’t know if...
