What a mistake! For $200/night, I'm astonished at the poor quality of this motel. It is the textbook definition of TIRED and SHABBY. I've stayed in hundreds of motels over the years for both business and pleasure and this rates in the bottom 5%. The bed has a terrible mattress. It's like something our of the Spanish Inquisition. The room is dark. The only lighting is two bedside lamps. No overhead light. No light on the very small desk. I'm writing this from a very dark corner of the room. There is no bedside table. The little furniture that is there looks like they bought it at a roadside yard sale. I had to use my suitcase standing up for a table to eat my Subway sub for dinner. The bathroom is small, cramped and looks like your drunk uncle put it together, complete with sloppy caulking. The front desk person isn't exactly focused on customer service. When I told him that the internet connection in my room isn't working (10+ minutes trying to load a simple web page), his response (when he looked up from his Nintendo Switch) was that "it's working here". Even after I badgered him into resetting the router, the internet service is barely faster than dial-up. The DirectV didn't work. A maintenance person had to reset the entire system. Even then, most of the channels don't work..It's stuck on "Searching...". On the third visit, they explained that they don't buy many channels and I have to keep searching for something that works. No, they don't have a list of available channels. FOR $200/NIGHT. No bedside nightstand. No clock. No in-room coffee. No fridge. No microwave. No clothes hangars. No closet. No vanity in the bathroom, so no place to put down a shaving kit, toothbrush or anything else. (See the photo). That sink is straight out of 1965. We're here for 2 rooms, 3 nights. On the bright side, the manager agreed to refund us for the next two nights. I found another motel 45 miles away. A lot of extra driving, but it will be worth it to get out of this dump. *Side note. The internet service is so bad here that I had to use my iPhone as a hotspot to make new reservations!

Disgusting. We booked this hotel at 8pm as a last resort. Walked in our room to some good ol human stains on both beds (documented through photos) they called the poor MAINTENANCE man to come change the sheets… which took over an hour. Asked to speak to a manager, and as the FOURTEEN YEAR OLD OVERNIGHT WORKER, texted her- he told us she had no service and refused to call. General manager Wiley, verbally told us on the phone he would comp the room for the issues and inconvenience… what did he do? Waited hours after we checked out to then double charge us on our card, telling us the workers said it was all a big lie & that one of the workers smelled smoke. (Ok but tell that to the photos you were sent, and the fact that none of us smoke. I’m also alarmed that if someone smoked the smoke alarms didn’t go off- safety red flag) Absolutely rude staff- except for the maintenance man who was called out to do what the cleaner should have. Unfortunately our family vacation turned into an exhausted toddler at 1030pm and a phone call to our lawyer for the double charges. We should have listened to the reviews. Lesson learned. Please note- have a personal phone with service when you stay as the phones don’t work- the workers tell you that’s what a personal phone is for if you have an emergency! General manager told us to go ahead and leave a bad review so here I am. He stated the stains below weren’t what we thought and that they were clean. I’m under the impression that blankets should be changed always- especially if they’re stained.

Booking about a month out from our trip to Yellowstone, this was one of the most affordable options for a five-night stay. Stayed in a room with three full, or queen, can't recall, beds. The bathroom is all-inclusive, meaning the sink is inside the bathroom, so it took a long time for our entire family to get ready each day, so that would be one downside. There was a dorm-room sized fridge in the room. The beds weren't the most comfortable, but we were generally exhausted each day and it didn't matter so much. There is NO breakfast or coffee, however there is a coffee "shack" right beside the hotel (Go-Go Espresso) with friendly folks working there. You can walk up or drive through. Many places near to walk to for dinner, or lunch. There is a McDonald's in West Yellowstone, but NO Wal-Mart. I repeat, NO Wal-mart. Closest one is an hour away. There are a couple of small grocery stores. Be sure to check their hours. They weren't open early enough to stop for breakfast items on our way to the park each day, so we had to try to get back before they closed in the evenings for any food we wanted to have with us the following day. Definitely try Firehole BBQ just down the street. Best chopped brisket sandwiches ever!!! Had a nice meal at Outpost as well. Didn't enjoy Slippery Otter all that much. Went to Firehole BBQ twice!

This might be a little lengthy, I however don’t like to give this poor of a review without full explanation. Back story leading up to reservation at Yellowstone Country Inn: I was on vacation rotating dispersed camping with hotel stays. Using the “USFS & BLM CG” app, I traveled to a dispersed camping sight to find a no overnight camping sign posted. It was late to travel to another camping site so using google maps looked for pet friendly lodging. Decided to try “Wander Camp” for a different experience. Upon arrival I was informed another customer had failed to vacate and there was no room available. “Wander Camp” did refund my reservation politely. I was back to google maps for more pet friendly hotels. Found “Yellowstone Country Inn” which according to google maps is pet friendly. Booking for Yellowstone Country Inn was cheaper using the “Hotels In America” booking site $198.98 and reservation was confirmed upon arrival. It was late and I was hungry, tired, and already aggravated by all the effort to find a place to stay. I took my luggage and pup to the room, then walked to find a place to eat. When I got back to the room I tried to turn the TV on and was disappointed to find it would not turn on. Then to the shower, like most motels the shower head was low. I am 6’4” and had to stoop to shower with very poor water flow I was displeased to say the least. I then went to the sink to brush my teeth. When I turned the cold water on, the faucet turned on and off but the valve had a decent leak when turned on. Thankfully the bed was clean and comfortable, and room although needing some repairs was neat and clean. Before checking out, I tried to use the ice machine and it dropped four ice cubes and stopped appearing to be empty. When I checked out, I advised the clerk about the issues with the room and ice machine. The real issue was when I checked my credit card. I was not only charged the booking app fee of $198.98, I was also charged another fee of $250.00 from Yellowstone Country Inn. When I called to question this additional charge which was $51.02 higher than my additional booking. I was informed it was because of the place was not pet friendly, so a pet fee and then fee for the damages. I double checked google maps and Yellowstone Country Inn is labeled pet friendly; then checked Yellowstone Country Inn’s website and it stated only service animals permitted. I was never asked if my pup was a service dog, just automatically charged the fee. The damages were prior to my arrival but I was charged for that as well. If the manager decides to make the extra fee of $250.00 right, I will update my review. My only recommendation is conduct a thorough inspection and report issues immediately so that you don’t get charged previous...

Just out to Yellowstone January 2005. There was a group of 9 of us that rented the cabin. We were informed there was room enough to sleep 20+ (which there is plenty of room to sleep), a full kitchen, 2 bathrooms, plenty of parking, complamentary breakfast, and it would be serviced daily by the hotel staff. |The location is great. There is plenty of parking. We did have some very tall men (6'2"+) in the group and it was difficult for them to walk in the first floor. The celings were QUITE low. There are 2 bedrooms on the first floor with 2 double beds. A TV area with 2 sofas and a love seat and a chair (looks like my college dorm room stuff). The TV no longer had a remote as the owner did not want to keep replacing it after being stolen often. We were told that afternoon when we checked in that there was NO breakfast waiting for us in the morning. We would have to get that on our own. Whomever we spoke with (2 different times) missinformed us. The upstairs had at least 6 beds, again the taller man had to sleep with their feet hanging off. Though, the upstairs had a vaulted ceiling with no problem with headroom. I was the first to try to take a shower. My first attempt was in the downstairs restroom. Luckilly our group had a carpenter amoungst us because he had to fix the hot water faucet in the shower...it was so stripped we couldn't even turn it on! I ventured upstairs as he was trying to fix that one and took my shower up there. As I got out of the shower and walked across the floor with my damp feet, the tiles from the floor stuck to my feet! We did have to call the first night we were there to ask why we hadn't received new towels and bed service, nobody could really give us a good answer. We also had to go to the front desk to ask for some additional TP as there were only 2 rolls in the place when we got there. After 24 hours in the cars...you catch my drift! We finally found out that the administration failed to mention the the houskeeping staff that anybody was staying in the cabin. After they found out we were there, the service was fine. |The place is quite rustic. It was pretty cheep and we knew not to expect much. The owner needs to put a little TLC into the place and it wouldn't be so bad. If you are looking for a place to sleep for a lot of people...this may...
