The best lodging if you want to visit Yellowstone for a few days. We were here for 4 nights in early August after reading reviews here. Brian & Patty are the hosts everyone would love to encounter when choosing a small inn for lodging. Some of the amenities we most appreciated include: fresh coffee in the lobby; complimentary ice for small cooler; complimentary snack bars in the lobby; and probably best of all -- Brian presenting us with a map of the area highlighting nearby dining options. This is not a fancy hotel, so no luxurious bathroom, but you won't find lodging that is as clean and well-maintained anywhere. It's clear that this lovely couple take great pride in providing a superior product at a very reasonable cost. This was a fantastic choice for early entry to Yellowstone each day, where we were blessed to see much wildlife, including the special treat of seeing a couple of momma grizzlies with their cubs. We spent 3 full days visiting Yellowstone and honestly could have gone a couple more days. P.S. - Don't forget to bring some decent binoculars with you to the park. We would not hesitate to reserve lodging here at the Alpine Motel in future travels to Yellowstone. Helpful tip: Ernie's Bakery & Deli has a website for pre-ordering great lunches to bring along with you to the park allowing for a lovely lunch at one of the many picnic areas...
Read moreWhen we travel, we try and seek out hidden gem motels are that modest and locally owned/operated. Did we ever hit the jackpot here. I had suspected it would be good given the reviews, and I have never felt more welcome and comfortable at any hotel/motel anywhere. We drove from Canada and stayed 4 nights. Brian spent 30 minutes talking to us about the motel, which restaurants to go to and which to avoid, how to best navigate the park, and even walked us to our room. He even showed us how to use the TV remote and the AC unit! 😆
Both Brian and Patty come out to chat when you go and grab coffee from the lobby. There are also free snacks there. They are very friendly with the kids, encouraging them to “grab more snacks!” They will bring ice right to your room. Honestly I am super bummed to leave. If you want a 100 sq ft walk-in shower and an espresso machine in your room, I recommend sticking to the large hotel chains. If you want a more personal experience with genuine customer service in a quiet, safe and clean environment, I can’t recommend Alpine...
Read moreThe Alpine Motel is my only place to stay when I’m in West Yellowstone. This is a super clean, mom and pop ran old school motel with Brian and Patty providing true western hospitality. They charge a fraction of the price compared to anyone else in town, and the rooms are spotless, comfy, and updated. Brian and Patty are great at recommending places in town for meals and coffee among others. In past visits Brian has let us borrow a cooler for picnics in the park and has even got the snow off our windshield for us. The real highlight is seeing Mr. Marmont, who is shy but Brian did share his favorite hang out spots with us so I was finally able to get his photo. Yes, you have to pick up the phone to inquire about a reservation and you have to use an old school key to get into your room, but the old school charm of having to do this the old way, and being treated like an old friend is what makes this motel stand out. I will always stay here, and will always recommend this motel without hesitation to anyone. Thanks Brian and Patty for another...
