As a tea drinker who does not like coffee, I'm finding that an establishment's selection of tea says a lot about their willingness to please their customers. Businesses that care enough to make tea correctly or provide a proper tea selection tend to be businesses that go above and beyond for their customers. (It's not about the tea, and yet it is.) Moose Creek Inn fits this pattern. The hot water did not taste like it had been run through a coffee machine to heat it. They offered a good, basic black tea. While they had other tea varieties, they weren't just the leftover varieties that no one wants. Hotels that are just about the bottom line don't do this. The staff here was very friendly and helpful, even walking outside after dark with us to show us the best place to park for our room. The room was clean and inviting. Our shower was tiny, but we just needed a clean, convenient place to stay for two nights while seeing Yellowstone. And for you coffee drinkers, they provided many options of creamers and flavors to add to your coffee. Those flavor syrups are also great in hot chocolate, which was also available.

This place is horrible. If there are something to praise, i would say this place appear clean. Following are the drawbacks: 1. The room is tiny. By Tiny I mean there are only room for the bed and tv stand. That's it. There are no table and almost room to put your suitcase. Further more, the bathroom is so small that a normal adult can just barely stand in the shower. 2 The room is not sound-proof. You can here clearly if someone is talking outside your room. More over, I stayed 4 days here and i have one night accompanied by the snoring of my upstair neighbor, one night accompanied by the flirting of my next door. Imagine the rest. 3. The front desk is indifferent. They do not accept any kind of refund. They do not support any form of help. When i ask the WiFi password they impatiently tell me to look at the little note in the envelope of keys while nobody told me before there was such a note in the envelope. If this place is cheap then i would not mind these shoots. But 200 dollars per nights should worth a much better place.

This motel is clean and rustic looking. It's close to restaurants and the park. The front desk attendant was friendly and helpful. The King bed was adequate. That's the good. Here's the bad. The room, a king, was barely big enough for the bed and night tables. The bathroom would be great if you are less than 4ft tall and weigh less than 90 pounds. The toilet is only about 10 inches off the floor. The shower can barely accommodate a normal sized adult. All of this would be fine were it not for the high price for the room, over $200/night in total. I can only assume that those who have left the glowing 5 star reviews are either employees of the motel or have never stayed in an actual hotel room before.

I booked this motel several months in advance for my parents and my wife and I. My parents had come to town from Florida to celebrate my mom's birthday and see me off before I deployed to Afghanistan. We live a days drive from Yellowstone and visiting the national park was a bucket list item for them and we hoped to help check it off the list. The motel had fairly decent reviews and seemed to be one of those quaint little hotels that were not your average big chain hotel/motels. We checked in and found our room to be the standard two queen bed room, small bathroom and thin walls. Understanding it was the location that drove the price we accepted it and let the excitement of visiting Yellowstone be the focus. The first night we began with a TV that would repeatedly turn on randomly, after the initial laugh and the several more times it happened, we finally unplugged it to go to bed. Next, shortly after midnight we were all woken up by our alarm clock radio that had been set to max volume and static, I'm assuming as a prank. No one was laughing. The next day we left around 7am spending the entire day in Yellowstone walking and visiting all its sights. We returned to our room at 6pm tired and excited to get to our dinner reservation only to find that the room had not been serviced. No clean towels no fresh soaps, coffee, or cups, and trash still full. When we went to the office to complain about this ridiculous oversight (considering theres literally maybe 30 some rooms) we were asked repeatedly if we left the do not disturb sign on the door, followed by "we don't have a cleaning crew now, want a couple towels? As we tried to explain how unacceptable this was, the desk attendant basically walked away and said nothing. My father and I stood there for a moment when another attendant showed up and tried calling the first to see if he was getting towels. They seemed unsure of what to do and unapologetic about the incident. We asked for another clean room and were told they had none, yet the sign said VACANCY up front. We asked for a manager and were told that she wasn't there and then when pushed we were given a fake name for the front office manager. Unsatisfied with the two front desk employees we left to get something to eat. Without showering or getting cleaned up we cancelled our dinner reservation and just decided on grabbing something from a small burger place. When we came back our beds had not been remade but basically sheets pulled up, trash emptied and 4 towels hung on the small rack in the bathroom. No coffee, no cups and no sign of a apology in sight. The next morning we returned to the office to check out and explain the problems with the manager. We received again the same "did you leave the do not disturb sign up?" followed by "well your room got cleaned and you got towels, eventually." Another employee chimed in while grinning "Was it really THAT devastating that you didn't get clean towels and your room cleaned?" Our jaws dropped... The next thing brought up was that we had an extra person in the room and they hadn't charged us. Which i'm assuming in their eyes somehow negates the other issues with our motel stay. (*For the record: My 8yr old little girl was able to come along at the last minute and was in the office at the time of check in, so they were well aware of her presence) When asked if we could have some kind of comp for the price we paid for all of our trouble they said no and we allowed to leave with nothing more than a disingenuous apology. Never in my life have I stayed in such a place with a blatant disregard for hospitality and service. Especially after spending the exorbitant amount for a nights stay, even if "it's the going rate" as the staff continued to remind us as...

The landscaping is nice...has mature pines and plants, very cool. The rest of the motel pretty much is terrible: a. the rooms are tiny, especially the bathroom; one can't open door all the way because towel rack is in the way. Shower stall is miniature and one can't even get out the way of the spray, it's so small b. manager very unfriendly and made me wait for 2 hours for room to "be ready". This was a lie- the room was ready...my friend arrived 15 min. after me and got a different person at desk and they showed him right to his room. The manager just wanted to be on a power-trip, so I had to wait around for 2 hours c. they have strict cancellation policy. Even though I stayed for 6 or 7 days and paid for that many nights, had an emergency and had to leave early and they wouldn't refund 2 nights. The desk clerk didn't even say anything when I checked out early and I thought to check receipt. Sure enough they were keeping 2 nights, even though the motel was nearly full! I asked manager but they told me to read the fine print...sure, sure. d. parking lot is tiny and made of dirt - a lot of people had to park temporarily in the dirt area or park nearer to rooms to load or unload e. very poor electrical connections. In the bathroom the plugs were too worn out to even hold the prongs. Almost no place else to plug in phone, razor and other devices. Old place. In fact, dangerous non-GFI plugs in bathroom.

Stay elsewhere - this place is truly crummy; rooms are poor, parking is poor, management and clerks unfriendly and if you have to check out early - they will keep...

Cozy... that's good and bad. The upstairs (on the street side) single king room we stayed in was about 14' x 14', not including the bathroom. With our bags and a full-size cooler we were kind of tight for maneuvering room and ended up stacking stuff in front of the door at bedtime so we could get around the bed. The shower seemed like it was a 32"x32". I'm almost 6' and over 200 lbs, so it was tight. My wife is much smaller and she was fine. We loved the decor. The room and bed were clean and comfortable. TV worked great, as did the coffee maker, microwave, and mini-fridge. There's no dresser to put your clothes in, so we lived out of our suitcases. It wasn't as quiet as some places we've stayed. We usually run the room heater/cooler/fan at night for white noise, so as close as we were to the street (and as noisy as the neighbors were before bedtime), we heard very little noise. The young lady who checked us in at the front desk was friendly and helpful. No continental breakfast, at least at this time of year. We were here in the off season, so the discounted price was reasonable. No way would we have paid the full rate and been happy about it. (We stayed Jackson Hole the night before for the same price, in a room three times the size, and had a king bed, dresser, sofa bed, large upholstered chair, coffee table, full-size tub/shower, table and two wooden chairs.) It's close to the park entrance, but then again, anything in West Yellowstone is. I think we'd stay here again, and I'd recommend it to friends with a warning about the small shower and...
