Matthew's Hallmark Shop — Attraction in Wilkes-Barre Township

Charged me twice for a purchase I only made once because their outdated computer system wasn’t working correctly and couldn’t print out a receipt the first time I inserted my card. So they told me to insert it again and they were actually charging me twice. I was skeptical about putting my card in the second time because the credit card terminal said “approved.” But I did what they told me to and got screwed. Subsequently my credit card caught the double transaction and sent me an email. I went back to the store and after talking to some useless associate AND calling customer service they can’t do anything!! So I paid $52 for a $26 ornament that I wish I never purchased. Won’t ever shop there again. But what really gets me is the sheer disregard in helping fix THEIR mistake! There used to be a ton of Hallmark stores in this area but most of them closed. I miss all the Hallmark stores. Locally, we have lost stores in Stroudsburg, Honesdale, Dickson City, Carbondale, Mount Pocono and the list keeps growing. Where else can you find all those little specialty items in such variety. Oh sure, now big box stores carry some Hallmark cards and ornaments. But only some, half the time you can't find just that right card unless you're lucky enough to be in a real Hallmark store. Save these stores before...
