There is no option for ZERO stars.
At 5:30 pm, the parking lot was relatively empty, considering. That should have been a clue.
Enter the dark, dim, unappealing restaurant - very dated and not "warm" or welcoming. No aroma of good food. We were seated and our waiter took drink orders - he wasn't rude, but he really had no enthusiasm for his job.
Son ordered chicken tender dinner with a side of mac & cheese and mashed potatoes - starchaholic, indeed. I ordered a baked potato and mac & cheese (no full dinner) - the waiter's bland expression visibly changed to irritated (no big meal, no big tip) and he was hard pressed to be pleasant after that.
The complimentary bread was whole grain wheat bread and I nearly cracked a tooth on one of the whole grains. No bread knife or butter knife available - I guess we're all to use our steak knives for everything.
My baked potato arrived encrusted in coarse-grained salt - a REAL smart thing to do when you're feeding a restaurant full of senior citizens on blood pressure medication. When I type, "encrusted," I mean that it was a solid mass of coarse salt on the top half of the potato. ASK or TELL PEOPLE that potatoes are served that way in your restaurant, for crying out loud. The mac & cheese was atrocious with bits of HAM in it (Jews not welcome). VERY mediocre.
Son's chicken tenders arrived and they were meh - absolutely nothing to write home about and they cost $17 with an upgraded side (mac & cheese) that brought his meal to nearly $20.
THEN, I put in an order for my other son who was at the Veterans' Administration Emergency Room of a bacon cheeseburger. He didn't want any sides - just a burger, although the waiter offered a side. Got the takeout and the bill and I nearly had a coronary event. For an order of chicken tenders, mashed potatoes, 2 mac & cheese portions, a baked potato, and a bacon cheeseburger that was no better than Burger King, the bill came to $48 and change. FORTY EIGHT DOLLARS FOR ABSOLUTE GARBAGE FOOD. Desserts were each nearly $10 each...............unbelievable.
I will never, ever, ever go to a Longhorn restaurant again, for the rest of my life. Unbelievably mediocre, and obscenely expensive. It's not FOOD - it's off of a truck and either fried or grilled. There's nobody cooking back in the kitchen. They're just heating stuff up and using a microwave. ...

Group of 4 and a baby walk in at 9:30pm after graduation ceremony. One of us is still in robe. We ask for a table and the hostess says âwe close at 10â, then I ask âwhat does that mean for us?â She proceeds to say âso do you still want the table?â Confused now, I ask âwell are you going to kick us out if we go past 10?â She says no. I say then yes weâd like a table. We are seated and notice now people pop their heads out of the kitchen staring at us like weâre jungle animals calling over more staff to look out at us. The manager also acting a bit odd, very watchful. Our waitress Amanda, great from start to finish. Two people from our group tried to go for a cigarette when the manager says to them that they canât leave, the doors locked. Ok. Weâre now eating our meal when this girl pounces on the booth behind our table and reaches over my sisters shoulder, ya thinking maybe she dropped something or maybe she wanted to clean off our plates we hand one to her, she says âno I need these, (snatches the salt & pepper shakers) because were closedâ. So I say âthis is by far the most wild Longhorn Iâve ever been to.â She goes to the back tells the manager everything we told her. He comes back to our table. Basically making excuses for his team, denying their actions. We told him we have no reason to lie, weâre uncomfortable and would prefer to finish our meal unbothered and to please ask your team to control themselves until then. He leaves. We get our bill. Full and complete. We leave the manager comes over again excusing his behavior saying itâs policy about locking doors at 10pm etc. we told him once again that it wasnât just about that but our entire dining experience has been bizarre. No remorse shown. We are loyal Longhorn fans but will never visit this place again. Never treated so strangely before. We were out by 10:40. I know it sucks to get a table before close but should be somewhat expected in that industry and more importantly your team should be trained to handle that like composed individuals. Idk you make...
Read moreFelt deliberately ignored. Sat down at the bar immediately after a couple sat at a high top in the bar area. A few min after us, a gentleman sat down one one side and a couple on another. All three groups of guests were greeted, asked what to drink and provided menus. Our counter was not wiped down as the manager asked the bartender to do so, we were not greeted and asked what we would like to drink or eat. Another server asked the bartender to wait on us and was also trying to help, but had her own tables to handle. I asked for water 4 times and menus twice. We ordered and watched as everyone around us received apps, salads, their meals. They finished up their meals while we had only received bread. I asked about our meal and finally received my salad and the app we ordered after over an hour. It was obvious our order had not been placed in the system when given. At this point, all the other guests had been waited on multiple times, asked how everything was, while we sat ignored. I am a very patient person and do my best to give the benefit of the doubt during these times, but we felt very deliberately ignored, so much so, that we just wanted to leave, but were hungry after a very long day. The manager came and talked to us, apologized, offered to comp dessert, but we just wanted to get our order and leave. He had our meals packed for us, discounted the bill some for our troubles, and we paid and left. We returned to our hotel and ate. The orders both came with a baked potato instead of the requested mashed, but in general were good. So, the food is good if you can get it, but feeling deliberately ignored was hurtful and demeaning. Will not return to...
