Located just steps from the iconic Café Apartments on Nguyễn Huệ Walking Street, FAHASA Nguyễn Huệ Bookstore is a must-visit for any book lover in Ho Chi Minh City. I was impressed by the sheer scale of the store and the variety it offers. It’s not just a Vietnamese bookstore—there’s an impressively large section of English books across genres, from fiction and travel to architecture, business, and self-help.
Beyond books, the store is smartly laid out into distinct sections, clearly marked with signage in both Vietnamese and English. You’ll find everything from Japanese manga, children’s books, and art supplies to stationery, school tools, and even toys. One area is devoted entirely to beautifully illustrated coffee table books and design publications from international publishers like Thames & Hudson.
There’s also a charming section filled with Vietnamese souvenirs—lacquerware, postcards, traditional dolls, and decor—making it a great last stop before heading to the airport.
The staff were friendly, and the layout made browsing very easy despite the busy flow of customers. Whether you’re searching for a specific title or just want to browse and escape the city’s heat, this is a fantastic place to explore.
Highly recommended for readers and curious travelers alike.

Read moreOn January 9, 2025, I visited a well-known and reputable bookstore to buy a book, hoping for a pleasant shopping experience. However, after making my purchase and heading out to get my car, I was informed by the security guard that my car had been towed away by the police. I was truly shocked because there were no clear signs or any prior warning from the store or the security staff about the parking restrictions. What disappointed me even more was the role of the security guards standing at the door. What are they there for if not to assist or at least notify customers about such important issues? This incident not only wasted my time but also left me feeling frustrated about the way this bookstore manages customer support and communication. For a business of such reputation, I expected them to prioritize customer convenience and experience instead of allowing such preventable incidents to occur. I hope the bookstore will take steps to improve its communication and coordination with customers in the future, ensuring that similar situations don’t happen again. Meanwhile, I advise anyone planning to visit to be cautious and double-check parking options to avoid finding themselves in the same unfortunate...
Read moreIt’s a large book shop with 3 floors . Stationary, art supplies , back packs , books and some decorative items . A little disappointed with the lack of literature ( fiction ) in English. The main focus on English books is on finance , economics, self development ( money driven ), and a handful of classics ( Jane Austen , Fitzgerald, Arthur Conan Doyle and Thomas hardy ) . Lots of Harry Potter books and young adult pulp fiction . Not really any Kerouac, Shakespeare, Herman Hesse , Anton Chekhov or Proust or Philosophy. Hundreds of beautiful decorated Vietnamese novels . Murakami , Thich Nhat Hanh, Ho Chi Minh books. Clean and tidy but a little warm in the stop. 3.4/5 biggest negative is they do not put the prices on any note books or...
