The Cafe Apartment in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, offers a unique and eclectic experience that stands out in the city’s vibrant café culture. Located in a converted apartment building on Nguyen Hue Street, this spot is home to multiple cafes and small businesses spread across several floors, each offering its own distinct ambiance and specialty drinks.

Review:

Ambiance:

The ambiance at The Cafe Apartment is diverse and charming, offering a range of environments, from cozy, intimate spaces to modern, minimalist settings. Each café has its own style, but the entire building maintains a relaxed vibe with plenty of natural light and cozy seating areas. You can find a quiet corner to work or enjoy a coffee while people-watching from one of the balconies. The eclectic mix of decor—ranging from vintage furniture to modern art—adds a creative and fun flair to the experience.

Coffee & Food:

The coffee at The Cafe Apartment is exceptional, with each café offering something unique. Whether you’re in the mood for a classic Vietnamese iced coffee or a more western-style espresso, the quality of the beans and brewing techniques are top-notch. You’ll also find some trendy options, such as cold brews and drip coffee, and of course, the famous egg coffee that Vietnam is known for.

The food offerings are varied across the different cafés, with many serving light snacks, cakes, pastries, and some even offering more substantial meals like sandwiches or pho. It’s a great place to sit down and enjoy both coffee and a light bite, with many places offering delicious local Vietnamese snacks.

Service:

The service at The Cafe Apartment is generally friendly and attentive. Each café has its own staff, and while service may vary slightly depending on which floor you visit, the staff are usually warm and eager to assist. Given the casual setting, the atmosphere is laid-back, and you can enjoy your coffee without feeling rushed.

Overall Experience:

The Cafe Apartment is a fantastic place for those looking to explore Ho Chi Minh City’s café culture in a single location. It offers a mix of modern vibes and traditional Vietnamese coffee, making it an ideal spot for coffee lovers, people-watching, or simply enjoying a moment of relaxation in the heart of the city. Whether you’re visiting for a quick coffee or want to linger and explore the different cafés, The Cafe Apartment offers a unique experience that...

The Apartment Cafe in Ho Chi Minh City is a popular spot, and for good reason. This 9-story building is a unique experience, filled with old shops and cafes. It's a great place to wander and take photos, especially if you're a fan of vintage vibes. Don't expect it to be perfect, though. It’s fun to walk around and take photos especially if you like old things, it is a mix of cafes, souvenir shops, beauty salons, and even some empty spaces.

We visited on a windy and rainy day, which wasn't ideal, but the building itself provided a fun escape from the weather. It’s best to walk up the stairs to see all the different shops on each floor. There's a lift, but it misses out on the charm of the building's unique architecture. Each shop has its own theme, offering a variety of experiences.

% Arabica is one of the famous cafes here, but we decided to try Madam Quyên, a personal favorite chosen by my husband. If you're looking for more modern cafes with a wider variety of shops, there are plenty of other options in Ho Chi Minh City. The Apartment Cafe is a great place to sit, enjoy a cup of coffee, and soak up the atmosphere. It's a popular spot for tourists, but luckily, we visited on a less crowded day. Overall, it's a fun and photogenic spot, but it's not for everyone. If you're looking for a unique experience and don't mind a bit of chaos, it's definitely...

Overhyped, Overpriced, Unhygienic

Overhyped: This place seems to have fallen victim to tiktok and for a reason that I do not understand. Yes it's a cool building with a bunch of little cafes and shops which makes an appealing aesthetic from outside but that's really all it is. The place is located to the left of a book store the entrance is an allyway and you just go up the stairs to the right. The drinks are nothing special and the stores aren't even really unique

Overpriced: These cafes charge ridiculous prices for crazy small portions and the taste is mid level at max. The entrance to the place is free which is great but I would not go back or even recommend coming

Unhygienic: DO NOT take the elevator unless you really need to because it stops on every floor whether someone pushes for that floor or not and it's not ventilated well so if others join it'll get crowded, moist, and hot. The outside seems appealing but once you enter the whole place is filthy and filled with roaches. Inside the stores appears to be clean and nice but the path leading to them is...
