Amazing views
I do recommend this hotel for people who have money to eat out or for a retirement home excursion and for people who don't have kids.
Hot to make the hotel better. Call Gordon Ramsay Replace broken blinds/curtains and rails. Add a basic kitchenett with a microwave, a better fridge, portable electric stove and some kitchen utensils. No toilet brush. Update shower operating system. Sign on how to operate air-conditioning system. Door holding magnet Maintain lights and rooms better. Conclusion. Hotel is outdated and would give Gordon Ramsay a heart attack. Hotel rooms are severely outdated and not equipped to deal with families or people with disabilities and small budgets. I would recommend this hotel for rich people or a place for retirement village excursion to stay.
This place doesn't even have a $5 kmart toaster in the room.
Recommend if you plan to eat out at restaurants.
Don't recommend for anyone younger than 40 years old, actually probably 100.
Staff are friendly unless you complain about the hotels processes.
Perfect for an episode or season of HOTEL HELL. Perfect for Karen's and for one night stay.
This hotel is the definition of an idiot mega sandwich with 22 layers.
But still free upgrade when you check in early and an amazing view of the beach or the city. Not bad for the price but a rip off on the quality of the rooms.
Might come back in 5 years and hopefully it's been upgraded/modernised but I think I rather book 3 nights in a tent city for the price and quality...
Read moreThis hotel was a complete and utter disgrace. I honestly cannot believe that a place in such an appalling condition is allowed to operate. This was, without question, the most revolting hotel stay I’ve ever endured and I have the photos to prove it.
The stench in the room was overpowering – a foul, damp odor that screamed mold and rot. It was obvious there had been severe water damage, and management has clearly done nothing to address it. The air felt heavy and unclean, and that musty smell lingered in everything. I felt like I was suffocating just trying to breathe in this pit.
And that’s just the start of it. The mattress was DISGUSTING, littered with ominous stains that looked like they’d been festering for years. Even worse, the pillows were just as revolting, covered in old yellow stains that no one in their right mind would ever want to sleep on. The towels? Thin, ratty, and ripped with HOLES. I wouldn’t even dry my pet with those things, let alone use them on myself.
The furniture? Beyond filthy. Both chairs were covered in dark, greasy stains – it was as if they hadn’t been cleaned since the place opened. I didn’t even sit on them because I genuinely feared what kind of grime and bacteria might be lurking on the surfaces. And to add insult to injury, the light fixtures were broken, making the room look like some kind of dingy horror movie set.
But it doesn’t end there. The room itself was filthy. There were marks on the walls, and every surface had a layer of dust that made it clear this room hasn’t seen a cleaning cloth in weeks. The lack of hygiene and care here is astounding. It’s as if management has zero regard for their guests’ well-being.
This lack of care is reflected in their responses to others visitor's grievances. I suggest you have a look at their responses and it seems like a brain dead bot is in charge of the keyboard. Copy, paste and a few words changed. Always the same structure..."Thankyou for taking the time to tell us about your experience...sincerest apologies...we are taking the appropriate measures to address the problem...(we) hope that you will give us the opportunity to better serve you in the near future". Many reviews were made more than a year ago clearly haven't been rectified. They aren't "addressing" anything and no "measures" have been taken. It should not take this long to provide basic human standards of living/accommodation for guests. In summary, they don't care and they won't care. Too many short term tourists/visitors come and go, so as long as they get the money why would they?
This place is an absolute health hazard. I wouldn’t recommend this nightmare of a hotel to my worst enemy. Save yourself the misery and find anywhere else to stay – trust me, you’ll thank yourself later.
Furthermore, upon arrival, they were unable to find our booking so we had to pay again for the room. Only upon providing receipts and screenshots of bank statements, we had to fill out forms and even received a call while we were sleeping before getting our money back.
The only positive note of this glorified cave is its location. Situated centrally amongst restaurants and clubs it is easy for a night out.
I can't change what happened to me, but I can help prevent others from experiencing the same fate. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. As for me, IM NOT...
Read moreMy stay at Mantra on View Surfers Paradise was filled with frustrating and unprofessional experiences. My friend, who is an Accor Plus member and working also for Accor Group in a different hotel, booked a room for me and my partner as a present for my birthday, and we were entitled to a 10% discount. To ensure I could check in on her behalf, she called ahead and emailed the hotel. A female receptionist confirmed that it would be fine for me to check in which I was refused later on. When I arrived in the afternoon, I was served by an Asian male receptionist who surprised me by refusing to check me in, citing the name difference on the booking. I had to call my friend to speak directly with the duty manager. Unfortunately, the manager was not only rude but also dismissive, making excuses about different hotel policies. The lack of internal communication and clear information is unacceptable, especially when we had already confirmed everything in the morning. She then withdrew the 10% Accor Plus discount and only applied a 5% discount for my Classic membership, which felt unfair. I accepted the 5% discount, thinking it wouldn't make much of a difference. However, the situation escalated when I was asked to pay the difference, which ended up being more than the original cost of the room. I repeated myself twice to explain the issue and so much of confusion, I had to write down the calculations on paper to show them the correct amount. The manager then confirmed the same amount I had written down after checking with their accounts team for about 10 minutes. This entire process took almost 45 minutes, making me late for picking up my birthday gift. On top of everything, it was my birthday, and the entire check-in experience was completely exhausting. After all of this, we were given two pieces of paper—one with general information and one with parking details without much of a standard verbal communication. The instructions were unclear, and we ended up parking in the wrong spot (Public parking) literally next to the "Deliveries" parking, the correct one. When we finally got there, the roller door was closed (even though it was before 6 pm, as stated on the instructions), so we had to stop the car, get out, and tap the key to open it. To top it off, we weren’t told there was no lift to the lobby, so we had to carry all our luggage up the stairs by ourselves. When we got to the room, it was nothing like the photos on the website. The room was very old and in desperate need of refurbishment. The carpet was dirty, with visible sand spots, as if it hadn’t been vacuumed properly. The room itself was outdated, and the overall experience did not match the quality or standards portrayed online. Even more disappointing, there wasn’t any drinking water provided which is a basic expectation in any hotel. I called reception to ask for water and was shocked when I was advised to drink water from the bathroom. This is completely not up to hygiene standards. This entire stay was frustrating and made what should have been a special birthday feel like a series of avoidable mistakes. The lack of customer care, poor communication and organization, and filthy room facilities made this a truly...
