Surf Regency Holiday Apartments — Hotel in Gold Coast City

We did a short 2 night stay with our 13 month old in a superior one bedroom apartment on the 12th floor. |Check in was super easy and quick. Free parking was included in a secure underground car park. |This is an old building however we were satisfied with our room being reasonably updated and modern in most respects however overall it still had that older building feeling. A trade off for the older building was we had a great ocean view and were in a great location close to the centre of surfers paradise. |The room had everything we needed including full kitchen and washing machine/ dryer. The bed was comfortable. The room was clean overall however only a minor issue with the vent in the shower (which is at eye level) was dirty. Whilst on the subject of the shower it was tiny and definitely not luxury if that is your thing……but it did the job. The rest of the bathroom was modern and clean. |We needed assistance on two occasions from staff during our stay and on both occasions the two different staff members were only too willing to help and had great customer service skills. |Would I stay again? Whilst no major issues at all, I would probably pay a few dollars extra and stay somewhere a bit more...

This is located very close to the beach and shops, plenty of food available. 5 stars for location. Although we only booked a standard apartment, we had amazing sea views. The best sea views in a long time. What made me think twice about coming back was the hygiene, or rather, the lack of it. As noted by other reviewers, the place needed a good deep clean. There were lots of dirt stains, grease etc left begind from previous occupants. I took some wet tissues and wiped off a fair bit which came off quite easily. It's clear that whoever was responsible for cleanliness just didn't try. The carpet was grotty too. For the price we paid, I wasn't expecting anything fancy but cleanliness is high priority for me personally. I gladly stay at monasteries in Europe which have just the basics but are clean. Overall I don’t recommend you to stay this apartment. The location is really good and it may ok for a long stay as this self-contained apartment has everything you need. We paid a quite bit for a superior sea-view room, however there was a complex in front of us and it was really annoying. The view from our 8th floor apartment wasn’t the same as they advertised on their website. The whole building is dated & under the constructions. Hoping to see good improvements after the renovations.

Our apartment looked clean when first entered, but there were a few things we were not really happy about. *Found many hairs hanging off the main bath room fan. *There was a dirty towel left out in a washing machine. *Iron in our room wasn’t in a good condition and ruined my top.

Please make sure to get a Wifi password when you check in. We checked in on a public holiday & no one answered our phone calls during afternoon, so we ended up buying a 24hrs data for $10 on...
