Centrally located close to the palace, museum, Nagaworld mall and Wat Botum Park.
First of all, the welcome we received was first rate, the staff here are as good as you'll find in any hotel across the globe and I've stayed in plenty! The rooms are wonderful, high end fixtures and fittings, quality towels and linen, separate toilet and shower, a lovely design feature this, my only observation is that there isn't enough towel rails to hang wet towels, there is space though to install an extra hook or two. The bed is so comfortable, getting off to sleep was a breeze.
The rooftop terrace is cool, cocktails are well priced and tasty, the view over the river, or to the temples and palace are brilliant. There is even a pool and spa up on the 14th floor!
I cannot emphasise how highly I rate this hotel, the whole package is top notch. Breakfast is very good, it goes without saying the staff are attentive, polite and efficient. We had our first evening meal in the restaurant and although a touch pricier than local restaurants, the environment, service and food were all class. It'll hardly break the bank so treat yourselves, at least one of the days you are here.
We paid about £58 a night, including breakfast - that officially makes Chaiya Palace the best hotel I've ever stayed at and I'm not over exaggerating. To get this kind of quality and service in the UK (which I doubt is even possible) you are talking £300+ per night. I appreciate I'm not comparing apples with apples comparing Cambodia to UK, but why shouldn't I expect this level of service and comfort back home? I know where I'd rather stay!
Well done...
Read moreI am just ending a weeks stay at the hotel and I have been to Phom Penh somewhere between 8-10 times over many years. I have stayed in quite a few different hotels and this new hotel jumps to the top of the list for me. I am all about my room and I can’t say enough good things about it. Large, well appointed, ample shelves for clothes which so many hotels lack, spectacular bathroom with bathtub, immaculate well serviced room, etc. |The hotel is also well located in the city near so many points of interest, near the Royal Palace, near Street 240 one of my favourites in the city for enjoyable shopping, easy walking distance to the National Museum which I also love and go to on every visit on Street 178 which has some lovely shops too. Easy access to so many fantastic restaurants nearby.|Lastly and most importantly the staff at the hotel are fantastic, friendly, kind, informative and so welcoming. I had most contact with Sam who is an absolute superstar. Any hotel would be lucky to have him on staff. I also have to mention Sun and Kim who are both outstanding as well. To have such personal contact with the staff was a highlight for me.|I have to mention that although the staff at breakfast are excellent I do concur that this is an area that could be improved for me. I am not a meat eater so I think there could be other options on offer.|Now that I have written all these superlatives I have to admit that I just extended my stay for another week to enjoy the hotel further. Don’t hesitate to book this...
Read moreMum and I recently stayed at Chaiya Palace Hotel and found it to be a little sanctuary in the busy city. The moment you walk into the well-furnished and air-conditioned entry you are looked after with refreshing cold juice and cold towels. The team also made sure our room was ready for us even though we’d be arriving much earlier than the usual check in time, due to the time our flight to Phnom Penh landed.
We were given a twin room on the 12th floor, the highest one the rooms are on just below the restaurant, it was very well furnished, modern and tidy. The large shower was a plus, as were the wide single beds and the chilly air conditioning. There’s a nice view from the small balcony, and you can’t hear too much noise from that high up.
The restaurant is very good in both the morning for breakfast and the evening for dinner, and the cocktails were a highlight for us. I didn’t use the roof pool but the views were tremendous.
The team made us feel very welcome and looked after, Mum had a massage which she said was about the best she’d ever had, and the concierge booked us tours and gave us recommendations for the local area.
The only small point I would make is that I was told the laundry service was $2 per kilogram of laundry but was given an itemised bill instead of a bill by weight, but the cost difference was minimal and I wouldn’t take a star away from the hotel just for that.
I highly recommend staying at Chaiya Palace Hotel and I wish them the best...
