My first visit to Cambodia and I’m pleased to say that the owners of this guest house deserve your custom. I unfortunately came down with vomiting & diarrhoea on the last day of my four day stay and unable to continue on my trip to Battambang. The management kindly found a room for me to recuperate & periodically checked on me during the day and night to make sure I was comfortable. They even went out of their way to feed me. Though I was still too ill to eat much the care shown was very much appreciated. ||The accommodation is basic, but very inexpensive. The in-house meals are of good quality. You have A/C and it works. Also, if you need good coffee and slices, and who doesn’t, then you also have easy access to the Cafe chain Brown Coffee (I recommend you give them a go). My thanks to the management of the Okay Guesthouse for...
Read moreThis is a review regarding the laundry service beside the guesthouse - we dropped off our clothes to be washed at 4 pm one day, told to pick it up after 5 the following day. Called the next day to let them know that we would be late, asking would they still be open at 7 or 8? The woman on the phone spoke perfect English but would not answer our question and kept asking when did we drop the laundry off. Place was closed when we arrived to collect laundry that evening. Went to collect it at 7 am the next day. Our clothes were thrown in a basket, not folded up yet and some were still damp. I helped to fold them and then when I brought them home I noticed one of my white tshirts had blue stains on it. Have had laundry done everywhere in SEA with no problems before, this is the first place I've been disappointed with. Would...
Read moreJust to be clear, there are 2 DIFFERENT Okay Guest Houses. There is the Guest House which is this one and there is the hotel one which is reviewed on Trip Advisor.
If you choose to stay at Okay Guest House by the river, expect the staff to be unaccomodating and unhelpful. If you have rooms on the 3rd, 4th, or 5th level then good luck because there are no elevators. You will have to carry your stuff up yourself up the steep steps. Bathroom is horrible. Tiny and dirty. Rooms are not that great but hey, it's what you get for $10-$15 per night. Wifi is spotty but free.
If they try to arrange a tuk tuk for you say NO. They will rip you off and take half the proceeds for themselves.
Staff suck. They are not professional and don't do what they say. Hotel is also far from everything. It's other end of...
