Meet & Eat Watbotum — Restaurant in Khan Daun Penh

We went here after just arriving in Phnom Penh, tired and hungry. The staff provided us with a fan to help us stay cool but then 2 (manageress and a waiter) stood right at our table without allowing us time to try and decipher the menu which only had 1 language and blurry photos. We were told to use the QR code to get a menu in English but this didn't work. I asked if they would just allow us some time and gestured for them to back away. They did very grumpily, all the staff apart from 1 walked around with miserable faces, I lost my appetite but my partner had some beef and rice, it was actually quite tasty but the beef was very chewy. It's obviously quite popular with locals and I get it, tourists who only speak English, but come on, a smile...

The food was okay, nothing special but also not bad. It was very busy so we had to wait quite long, what is okay because the stuff was very friendly still. What I don't like is that they charged different prices than the menu. And say oh sorry the price in the menu is wrong. (The menu is online, so they could change that easy) I feel that is a scam to get people to order something and afterwards charge more. If it would be by accident they just would charge the price from the menu still. But they don't, they charge more so I guess...

It's such a nice place to eat things that don't make you feel too full. Sometimes when you don't feel like you're hungry but just find something to eat and enjoy life, I recommend that you try this place. You can then just order the many items that are more like snacks. The taste of food is great and staff are awesome including the parking guy. It's good to be here with at least someone, being along seems a bit...
