My one-night stay at the Residence Inn in Kingston, ON was a bit of a mixed bag, my friend. On the positive side, booking was a breeze, and this place is smack dab in the heart of downtown. You can't beat that for convenience! Plus, the hot breakfast had me feeling like a fruity champion with their fresh fruit spread. Kudos to them for also granting my odd request for an HDMI cable in no time flat. Now, let's address the negative side, shall we? While the front desk associate had their polite talk on point, they seemed to have missed the memo on going above and beyond when you're shelling out over 300 bucks a night. Come on, folks, a little extra warmth wouldn't hurt! And parking, oh boy. It was like playing a game of hide-and-seek to find the poorly located lot, complete with a bug population that could give the Twilight series a run for its money. And let's not forget the water pressure, or lack thereof. It was so underwhelming, I had better luck getting a trickle from a leaky faucet. And just to add a cherry on top, they decided to keep only two elevators, with one conveniently out of service during check-out time. Talk about a grand exit, right? All in all, the Residence Inn had its pros and cons. If you're looking for a conveniently located spot with a decent breakfast, give it a go. But don't be surprised if the front desk keeps things politely cool, bugs make a cameo in your parking adventures, and the water pressure leaves you longing for more. Oh, and pack your patience for the elevator situation. It's a wild ride, my friend

Stayed at the hotel overnight during the week in mid-October. Easily found parking outdoors, and later moved into the underground parking lot which had plenty of space during our stay; might be limited if the hotel was busier (not sure how busy it gets). Easy check in process after booking online. Courteous staff. We stayed in the Studio with 1 King bed, sofa bed, and Harbour view. We enjoyed the view from the room. The room itself was nice enough - it is somewhat older but well kept and clean with a nice sized sitting area, kitchen, and then bed space. For breakfast there is a list of items that you are able to ask for and then the kitchen staff (who were very nice) would grab the items for you rather than self-serve due to pandemic restrictions. The cooked food was decent. Overall, nice hotel that is a bit overpriced for what you get, but well kept and great location near the downtown that makes it easy to walk around from and explore.

This is my fourth visit to Kingston and first stay at this place. I stayed for 2 nights at this place on my college trip. I got the room at 9th floor and sadly with city view and did not get lake view. The rooms are spacious with king bed and big living area. There is big kitchen in the room with all appliances. It is good if you are looking to stay for long term. The bed is comfortable and room temp control is good. Bathroom are nice and there is partition between facilities. The shower area is nice and accessible. But the space is not big so can be challenging with people. Breakfast area is good but don’t expect too many choices. I felt it is like working breakfast but the food quality is good. One thing I like is the staff and hotel policy to be inclusive as they employ people with special needs. Kudos for that. Good place to stay if you are visiting Queens as it is just 10 mins walk away.

It was a matter of convenience that we once stayed at the Residence Inn 7 years ago. The price was affordable and for the $20 more as other hotels, we could get a room with a full size fridge, microwave, 2-burner stove and dishes for 4 people. If you want to stay downtown, near the hospital (like we had to), for $20/day you cannot feed yourself in the restaurants. You can cook our own meals and save a lot money. I wish the cost of parking would be included in the price because it is another $20, but it is secured. heated and it comes really handy in the middle of winter!

The staff is awesome! We stay about 4-5 time/year and only once I had one staff member being disrespectful to me. I brought it up to the manager and she dealt with it immediately The next time I saw the employee, I was given an apology and all was forgotten.

One time we had booked the hotel last minute for two nights because our Mom was dying. We didn't make it to the hotel that night as she died early the next morning. We called the hotel advised them of the situation, asked them not to give out our room, but to please have it ready because we would arrive whenever. We arrived at the hotel at 10AM. At 1300hrs, there was a knock on the door, the staff brought us a bouquet of flowers. They didn't charged us for the first night.

When we go, we always request extra tea bags and go to the bar and pay for a glass of milk to drink with the tea. I also see the manager to get some change so that I can get a can of soda pop. One day, because of my Parkinson's I couldn't get the change in the machine. I went back up to the lobby and asked for help. Not only did I receive help, but now, every time we come, there is milk and a can of Diet Coke in the fridge.

The beds are too soft and most of the time, I don't sleep well, but I wouldn't trade hotels! The rooms are always super clean. The location is the best, it has a place to park the car so that you can check in (which is important as I walk with a walker), the breakfast location is conveniently located by the lobby and the rooms as well as the pool and exercise rooms are all easily accessible!

The breakfast selection is more than enough to please everyone. Eggs, cereals, fruits, yogurt, sausages or turkey bacon, potatoes, muffins, pancakes and waffles.

Negative points? I wish they had more room as it is often booked solid and we often cannot stay if the trip is not planned ahead... No...

We recently stayed for the first time at the Residence Inn by Marriott Kingston Water’s Edge Kingston, and it was below the standard I have received in the past for Marriott service. Perhaps it so soon following the pandemic to expect service levels to be what they were, however most of the interactions I had with the staff were not the best, they were not rude but definitely not friendly or helpful whatsoever. Before arriving, knowing that this was a pet friendly hotel I requested a pet free room identifying that I have bad allergies, which is what I have always done when staying at a Marriott property. The response was a no “we cannot guarantee that any of our rooms haven't had pets in them.” There was no discussion or even reassurance that they would ensure the room was free of any pet hair or even offer to make sure there was no pet in the room immediately preceding my arrival. I don’t think I would have booked at this location knowing that ALL rooms were open to pets and they would not consider a health accommodation room for someone that can’t be around pets. I wanted to see if I could get some information about what extra steps are being taken for cleaning. I was referred to the website – which has a generic Marriott statement. I did not see anyone once during my entire stay clean anything. No one seem to have specific cleaning information about this specific hotel. Disappointing. As a gold member, I requested an upgrade to the next room when checking in. When I arrived and inquired the answer a straight “no”. She did not even look or check my reservation to see what room I was in. When I was finished checking in (so she could see my member status and room type) I asked again and was told “nothing is available”. No effort whatsoever and the hotel was not sold out and then next level rooms were still available on the website for booking and appeared to be available, so they just would not allow me to upgrade.
When making the pull out bed the extra bedding that we took out had a blanket covered in hair. When I called down to the front tell them and request a new one the response was “ew that’s not good”. No apology, no offer to replace it. I had to ask for a new blanket and then I was told to “come down and grab it at the front”. At 11pm at night I had to go down to the front desk, no one was there, and theblanket was just left on the countertop.
Overall, mediocre stay that was a little...

We had the pleasure of staying at the Residence Inn Kingston Waters edge, an all suite hotel right on the edge of Lake Ontario for a week mid April on our first visit to Kingston. Every room has a view of the water or the city of Kingston which is a beautiful historic city surrounded by water. We were there to celebrate our daughter's 21st birthday and as she is studying at the Royal Military College of Canada, the decision to stay at the Residence Inn absolutely enhanced our time in Kingston and celebrate this time with her. The staff went of their way to make this event memorable and arranged to have a birthday cake and bottle of wine in the fridge for our arrival plus doing many other thoughtful things during the time we were there. Thankyou. The staff are exceptional, right through from reception, the dining room staff, housekeeping and everyone we came in contact with. The rooms and facilities are first class - we really enjoyed the full kitchen and the large room with lounge like area which enabled us to have our daughter and friends visit. The fully cooked breakfast available each morning (inclusive) is exceptional and there is an evening event three nights a week where one can go downstairs and enjoy tapas like food from a local restaurant or their own kitchen. There is a well equipped gym and swimming pool and miles of walking paths right outside the front door. This hotel caters to everything one could wish for. An incredible service they offer and we have not seen in any hotel anywhere is that, if one fills out a grocery list and has it down to reception by 0900 in the morning, by the time you get back later in the day the groceries will be stocked in your fridge and cupboards. As the kitchens are fully equipped it makes it so easy for putting together a meal if you don't want to eat out at one of Kingston's exceptional restaurants. We could not have asked for a more pleasant stay on our first occasion in Kingston and as our daughter has two more years at Royal Military College, this is going to be where we stay whilst visiting her. I might add that our original plan was to stay five nights in Kingston and two nights in Ottawa but we so enjoyed Kingston and your hotel, we elected to stay the full week. Thank you to Residence Inn Kingston...
