Montana Gelato - Lastarria — Restaurant in Santiago

This shop seriously needs more reviews, that’s why I’m writing!

First of all, they have the most beautiful ice cream shop in all of Santiago (and yes, we saw a lot) and they are in a really nice relaxed neighbourhood (from our point of view the best neighbourhood in Santiago). Nice restaurants and boutiques around.

Then the quality. We love ice cream but we really wanted to try their frozen yoghurt because it looked really promising. The plain yoghurt alone was already very tastful and nicely cold. Then we could add as many toppings as we like, which was like heaven. I hope they will keep it this way because this is really a USP. We took a size medium and I think it was $6.000 and it was so worth the money.

The staff is also very nice, which is very important to the experience for us. The lady serving was very calm and not rushing us.

I wish this ice cream shop was also in The Netherlands,...

The gelato is crazy good—super creamy, flavorful, and they’ve got so many options it’ll leave you happily indecisive. They offer classic flavors but also some more exotic ones for when you’re feeling adventurous. I tried the tiramisu flavor, and wow, it was delicious.

Now, heads up: there’s almost always a line, but don’t panic—it moves pretty fast, and it’s totally worth the wait. The vibe is chill, the staff is friendly.

La atención es horrible, hecha a perder todo lo bueno que puedas encontrar el helado. Han subido varias veces los precios y cada día sirven menos helado en las porciones. Quienes sirven helado te atienden molestos, disgustados, da entre miedo e incomodidad pedirles lo que quieres. Además lo que recibes pocas veces coincide con lo que pediste pues tu ves un helado con una presentación por encima pero te sirven desde el otro lado donde no hay nada de lo que te tentó para pedir, y finalmente es un helado donde predomina el sabor a leche o a azúcar. Por el precio que cobran no conviene en absoluto, hay heladería mejores. Las mesitas para ir a sentarse no las limpia nadie, siempre pegajosas y sucias, asi que si vas con niños será dificil. Muchas veces los helados están derretidos y te los ofrecen igual, aunque en esas ocasiones la porción se reduce aún más y de todas formas te lo beberas líquido. Y si pides helados de yogur... pffff ... mala idea, compra el mas pequeño pues le ponen la misma cantidad de helado a los tres tamaños de helado y se van molestando a medida que les vas pidiendo toppings. Si luego quieres recargar se te va a derretir el helado antes de que alguien se digne a atenderte. Si bien el helado a veces está bueno la experiencia completa es un fiasco. No saben atender!!!
