I was excited to stay here as I’m a titanium Marriott member but I’d never been to a Meridien, but I was quickly pretty disappointed.
This hotel is dated and is not a 5-star hotel at all, if it were a 3-star and cheaper, it’d be more understandable. That said, everything is clean and works fine; it’s not a bad place, just not a good value, especially with all of the options around.
As I arrived, I wasn’t give any welcome gift and hardly any recognition of status (I have over 100 nights this year).
I asked for late checkout at checkin and they said it was ok and confirmed it, but then someone knocked at my door a bit aggressively and interrupted an important meeting at 1230 as I guess no one marked my late checkout on their end. At the end they let me stay late, but it just showed me that they’re a bit uncoordinated.
Again, this isn’t a horrible place, but it is a very bad value. I’d never stay here again, unless the price was close to half as much, and I probably won’t ever stay at a Le...
Read moreNot to be one of those reviews, but trust me -- do NOT stay here. Between the mysterious stains all over the carpet, our room key having a "trick" to it (aka jiggling up and down in the card receptor until you see a green light while ignoring the red lights along the way), and the completely unhelpful staff -- it really impacted our trip to Santiago. There were numerous hotel goers taking an extra ride in the elevator as they couldn't figure out the "trick" behind the double push needed to get the lobby button to light up. We went to breakfast the first morning at the hotel, only to open a packet of syrup that had solidified and started to become "flakey." Our shower bath products were empty. We asked that they replenish them and the staff brought up two bars of soap instead. The curtain was off the track and therefore difficult/impossible to move. This is NOT representative of a Marriott or Le Meridien product. Please heed my warning -- you couldn't pay me to stay in this...
Read moreWe stayed here for nine days and enjoyed our time very much. Not for the hotel itself but for the staff. The hotel itself was disappointing. I made my reservation based on my experience with Le Meridian and Marriott brands and reputation. The quality was not what I expected. The rooms and the hallways need attention (walls need to be repaired/painted) and the carpeting is stained and needs to be changed. The windows were very dirty and took away from the view. If I say we could not see anything from our 20th floor room , I am not exaggerating! That said, here are the positives: Wonderful and kind staff. Especially Adolfo Quintero whose warm and professional hospitality made each morning brighter. He truly is an exemplary staff member for being so welcoming to all the guests. A great breakfast buffet Comfortable beds Efficient Room Service Swimming pool on the third floor deck Close walking proximity to Lastarria, Bella Vista, and many...
